The Transport Research Arena Conference the bi-yearly top transport research event in Europe took place from 23 to 26 April 2012. The Conference reflected the multidisciplinary nature of the transport sector and focused on all aspects of all surface transport modes with the exception of overseas shipping.
eCoMove was present with a demonstrator on the European Commission stand and two papers presented in the conference programme. On 23 April Máire Geoghegan-Quinn European Commissioner for Research & Technological Development enjoyed a test-drive on the joint eCoMove-Freilot simulator which showed her the potential fuel savings to be realised thanks to these future applications.
TRA 2012 was co-organised by the European Commission the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure Transport and Networks the Conference of European Directors of Roads the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council the European Rail Research Advisory Council and the European Technology Platform WATERBORNE.
