We at ERTICO believe that research is the key for improving the mobility of people and goods, making it safer, cleaner and more efficient. Consequently, we will be participating in one of the largest research transport events in Europe, the Transport Research Arena (TRA), in Vienna from 16 to 19 April.

During this four-day event, we will present some of our projects and innovation platforms. We will be presenting our work from three of our four focus areas: Connected and Automated Driving (CAD), Transport and Logistics, and Clean Mobility. These activities will be showed in form of presentations, symposiums and outdoor demonstrations.

One of ERTICO’s key projects in the CAD area – AUTOPILOT – will present its latest developments on 17 April from 12:30 to 12:45 at the European Commission’s stand in the exhibition area. AUTOPILOT works to leverage the Internet of Things to advance automated driving and create new driving services. That same day, AUTOPILOT’s project coordinator and ERTICO’s Senior Manager François Fischer will speak about the project in the session INV7 “Automated Vehicle Testing on European Public Roads” (room Schubert 4) between 15:15 to 16:45.

More CAD activities will be presented by CARTRE, a Coordination and Support Action that accelerates the development and deployment of automated road transport. Following the success of the first edition, CARTRE will host the symposium “Research & Innovation for Connected and Automated Driving in Europe” on 19 and 20 April as parallel event to TRA. During the event, high-level speakers will share their positions, visions, and discuss the challenges and research needs for the deployment of CAD in Europe. For more information and registrations, please write to info@eucad2018.eu.

ERTICO-lead project AEOLIX will be present in the ALICE stand to show the work carried out to tackle the fragmentation and lack of connectivity in logistics. To complement the discussion about city logistics, NOVELOG will also be presented in the ALICE stand. Don’t miss out on the presentation of AEOLIX at the European Commission stand.

The e-learning training programme CAPITAL will provide insight into C-ITS services to be deployed in 2019 and will be launched with a series of ITS/C-ITS courses to provide guidance to public authorities. During the conference, Martin Böhm, General Secretary of the C-Roads will present the key elements of harmonised C-ITS deployment in Europe. Registration is required and can be done at this link.

Get some fresh air and come to witness the outdoor demonstration of the inter-roaming functionalities for electric charging. The demonstration is part of the NeMo project, that is creating a Hyper-Network for Electromobility. Visitors will be able to use the Z.E TRIP application embedded in a Renault ZOE connected to the Gireve platform to get information for a charge point connected to the Hubject eRoaming platform.

With our presence at TRA, we wish to give our contribution to the field research for new transport solutions and to exchange knowledge with smart mobility research community.

We look forward seeing you in Vienna!
