This is a great year for the Republic of Tatarstan, host of the 2018 International Research and Practice Conference – ITS Forum. At its 5th edition, the theme of the conference will be “Modern problems of life safety: intelligent transport systems and situational centres” and ERTICO – ITS Europe will participate as one of the organizers in Russia’s largest conference on ITS.

As of 2014, ERTICO – ITS Europe has been strengthening ties with the Republic of Tatarstan, to learn more about how the Republic is developing and implementing intelligent mobility solutions. One of the main topics in the European discussions at both policy and technology levels, as well as in the ITS industry, is Connected and Automated Driving (CAD) , which will be extensively discussed during this conference.

ERTICO’s CEO Jacob Bangsgaard will be moderating a session on Connected and Automated Driving (CAD), a debated topic in Europe. The panel will provide concrete examples of CAD technologies on vehicles, roads and in the traffic management centres, with the aim of exchanging regional information, so that all parties stay up to date with each other’s research programmes and policy developments. Particular focus will be set on the role of the public and private sector on providing the necessary road infrastructure for automated and connected vehicles in Europe.

We welcome you to show your interest! More information about the ITS Forum and ERTICO’s session is available here.
