The German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) has given the green light to a nationwide programme that will install a vast network of charging points for electric vehicles.

From 1 March 2017, private investors, municipalities and municipalities have been able to apply for the € 300m funding programme.

The programme will spend € 220m setting up 5 000 rapid-loading stations and € 100m on establishing 10 000 standard stations.
