While the ITS Observatory project is preparing the launch of the ITS platform, we are glad to introduce to you the ITS Observatory Project Ambassadors. Representing the respective four key industry sectors taking part in the ITS Observatory – policy, research, industry and public authorities – Project Ambassadors Eric Sampson, Richard Harris, Harry Lahrmann and Svend Tofting have accepted to provide their views and insights to help their respective sectors  assess the ITS deployment potential provided by the ITS Observatory.

The four ITS Observatory Project Ambassadors all have gained exceptional expertise and widespread recognition in their field of activity. You can read about their background and their vision for the ITS Observatory on the project’s website. They are strong believers in the ITS deployment potential of the Observatory. From a policy perspective, Eric Sampson believes the ITS Observatory will support all aspects of policy making by offering a quick, simple and effective way to learn evidence is available about different deployment projects and to identity the colleagues responsible so that contact can be made for discussions. For the ITS industry, the ITS Observatory is to become the ITS reference resource for Europe, as stated by Richard Harris. It will provide information on the outcomes of ITS research and development, deployment and integration and support policy makers and decision makers. Harry Lahrmann is convinced that the ITS Observatory will strengthen research divisions and that public and private providers of research funding get the most from their allocations. Finally, the ITS Observatory will provide a comprehensive tool showcasing many ITS deployment activities at national, regional and city level. Monitoring these ITS activities and having access to a network of ITS contacts will accelerate ITS deployment by public authorities and cities, according to Svend Tofting.

You’ll meet the ITS Observatory Project Ambassadors at events and congresses, during webinars, etc. ITS stakeholders are invited to address their questions regarding the potential of the ITS Observatory for their sector of activity to these Project Ambassadors either at these events or by simply posting a question through the ITS Observatory website. All relevant answers will be added to a FAQ session that will become part of the ITS Observatory website.
