ATEC ITS France and ITS (UK) took the opportunity of the 2014 European ITS Congress in Helsinki to sign an MoU. Jean Bergounioux, Secretary General of ATEC ITS France, invited Richard Harris, International Director of ITS UK (both in the photo), to attend the French reception to launch the 2015 ITS World Congress in Bordeaux and sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

The organisations look forward to working together to support each other and particularly to assist the members who wish to be in touch with colleagues overseas.

Jean Bergounioux said “French ITS stakeholders have always looked over the Channel and been impressed by the work done by ITS (UK), primarily the organisation of the 2006 ITS World Congress in London. We think that we have a lot to learn from UK realisations in domains such as traffic congestion management and traveller information systems. We are looking at building stronger cooperation between our two organisations and their members by creating innovative solutions to common mobility issues.”

Richard Harris commented “I have been a long-time admirer of ATEC ITS France since 1989 when I made a presentation on Autoguide at the ATEC ’89 Conference. So, I am particularly delighted that we have now formalised cooperation between our organisations and will be working closely together on the future of transport”.
