Contract value for implementation of the system at 267 million Euros

Kapsch TrafficCom AG listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange in the prime market segment received the order for the implementation and operation of a nationwide electronic toll collection system in Belarus.

The agreement signed by Mr Erwin Toplak Chief Operating Officer of Kapsch TrafficCom AG and Mr Ivan I. Shcherbo Minister for Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus today extends over a total road network of 2743 km and contains both the implementation of a dedicated short-range communication based system as well as the operation over 20 years. The total contract value for the implementation of the system reaches approximately 267 million Euros out of which 158 million Euros fall upon the first two phases within the next two years.

The first phase of the system shall start operation on 1 July 2013. Each phase will be financed and implemented by Kapsch TrafficCom and reimbursed within three years from the start of the operation. “The introduction of such advanced toll collection system shows a serious approach to make a substantial contribution for infrastructure development to support the growth of economy of the Republic of Belarus” says Erwin Toplak Chief Operating Officer of Kapsch TrafficCom AG.
