“Modern problems of life safety: intelligent transport systems and situational centers”. This is the theme of the 2018 International Research and Practice Conference – ITS Forum, which will take place in Kazan, Russian Federation, on 27 and 28 February.

Many important stakeholders are taking part in the organisation of this event: the Scientific Center for Life safety of the Republic of Tatarstan and ERTICO – ITS Europe, with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and Rostec State Corporation.

ERTICO – ITS Europe will renew its presence in the international ITS arena as one of the organisers of the event and with the participation of its CEO, Jacob Bangsgaard, who will be one of the speakers.

For several years, development of ITS technologies has been the priority of the research and practice conference. This tendency will be continued in 2018 with focus on CAV (connected and automated vehicles) technologies, smart traffic management, big data and much more. Another fresh view will be given to situational centres where the government takes the role of digital coordinator among different sectors of society.

Since 2010, every two years, the Republic of Tatarstan has organised Russia’s largest conference on ITS, focused on the latest mobility developments in the region. As of 2014, ERTICO – ITS Europe has been strengthening ties with the Republic of Tatarstan, to learn more about how the state is developing and implementing ITS mobility solutions. This makes the International Research and Practice Conference an excellent opportunity for the ERTICO Partnership to work with Tatarstan and the rest of Russia, strengthening ERTICO’s international presence.

The event will consist of several parts: Congress Program, Exhibition, Technical and Sightseeing tours.
