Review and Submit for the 2014 ITS World Congress

The International Program Committee and ITS America are now soliciting volunteers to review submitted technical and scientific papers for the Technical Program at the 21st ITS World Congress. We need your help to make sure the Technical Program reflects the most cutting edge and relevant topics of our industry! Volunteers will review papers from their respective regions and will be notified of paper assignments and scoring guidelines by mid-January 2014 and will have a month to review and submit comments.

ITS America Members – Get Ready for the Best of ITS Awards!

ITS America will be hosting its annual “Best of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Awards” at the 21st ITS World Congress & ITS America Annual Meeting in Detroit, Michigan on September 7-11, 2014. ITS America annually recognizes the organizations that have implemented the most advanced transportation projects among ITS America’s transportation technology community. This program aims to distinguish organizations within the Americas whose projects demonstrate specific and measurable outcomes and exemplify innovation by establishing a “new dimension” of performance.

ITS America will award winners in each of the following categories:

1. Best New Innovative Product, Service or Application

2. Best New Innovative Practice
Subcategories include:
• Rural ITS Project
• Sustainability in Transportation
• Outreach
• Partnership Deployment
• Research and Innovation
• Tech Applications

If you or your colleagues know of an innovative product or practice that has been implemented in the Americas within the 2013 calendar year, please begin drafting your nomination to submit to the Best of ITS Awards. This is a unique opportunity to be distinguished as an advanced leader in the transportation technology industry. Award recipients will be highlighted at the ITS America Plenary on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the 21st ITS World Congress in front of hundreds of transportation professionals, policymakers, and press at the largest global conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems in North America.

The nomination period will be open from January 8 to April 9, 2014, when you will be able to submit your nominations through our Best of ITS Awards page on the 2014 ITS World Congress website. Only projects to have taken place in the Americas within the 2013-2014 calendar year are eligible for nomination. Additionally, only ITS America Members are eligible to be nominated for the Best of ITS Awards.

Have an Eye for the Innovative? Be a Best of ITS Awards Judge!

ITS America is looking for volunteer judges from the Americas region to help review and score the 2014 Best of ITS Award entries. To ensure that the best and brightest are recognized for their contributions to the ITS industry, we need your help. The period for Best of ITS Award reviewers to volunteer will be open from January 8 to March 12, 2014. Starting January 8, 2014, those who wish to participate will be able to fill out the volunteer reviewer form on the Awards page of the 21st ITS World Congress Website. Volunteers will be notified of their role on March 18, 2014.
