Three rail lines will be included in the integrated transport network in the Olomouc Region from July this year, allowing passengers to access bus, tram and suburban rail transport on a single ticket.

The region is also planning to introduce electronic ticketing to make integration more efficient and cost effective.

‘Our goal is the ability to travel on one ticket throughout the Olomouc region. Integrated railway lines is the next step, and we are approaching our goal,’ said the Director of the region’s integrated transport network, Jaroslav Tomík.

Integrated electronic ticketing is foreseen to make distribution of transport subsidies among the 15 transport companies operating in the Olomouc Region fairer, and to reduce annual costs by 900 million Czech koruna (€ 33 million).
