Registration has opened for this summer’s 2nd European conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) in Romania.

Taking placing in Bucharest on 16 and 17 June 2015, the SUMP conference is the principal annual event for mobility planning practitioners, policy-makers and academics from across Europe to come together to discuss key issues, highlight new developments, and exchange ideas and experiences. Attendance is free of charge.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘sustainable mobility for everyone’. Attendees will explore how the SUMP concept can be flexibly applied to suit the different contexts of cities, whether this applies to geography, scale, or budgets.

Additionally, there will be a special focus on approaches that can be taken to ensure mobility and accessibility is improved for all, and technical sessions will provide practical guidance on specific aspects of urban mobility planning.

With a total of 250 expected participants, the conference represents an excellent networking and knowledge-sharing opportunity. A first version of the conference programme has been published and attendance is free.

The first SUMP conference took place in Sopot (Poland) last year, attracting 144 international delegates.
