The Eco Fund, the largest financial institution of the Republic of Slovenia, is offering new incentives for members of the public and companies to buy electric vehicles.

The money received does not have to be paid back, and for the first time the offer has been extended to include electric motorcycles and mopeds.

There have been changes in the conditions for acquiring the support, however.  Whereas previously the vehicle needed to be registered under the name of the grant recipient and remain in their ownership for at least two years, the minimum requirement has now been increased to three years. This time period starts following the vehicle’s initial registration.

Another change is that both members of the public and companies can now apply for subsidies on  several electric vehicle purchases within one application.

The Eco Fund supports activities that aid environmental protection efforts within Slovenia. The fund states that “calls provide sufficient grants for the use of renewable energy sources”.
