TISA got back from a very fruitful week in Japan, on the occasion ofhaving been present at the ITS world Congress (14-18 October). TISA had a space on the European Pavilion, with where Thomas Kusche (TISA President), Matthias Unbehaun (TISA Executive Director) and Stephanie Chaufton (TISA Coordinator) having had the chance to meet with many members of TISA from the Asia-Pacific regions and as well as companies interested in TISA’s work.

 

On 16 October, TISA hosted the special session SIS24 on the current status of TPEG globally. The discussion focused on the different TPEG-based (mostly traffic-related) services, which are operated in different regions. In addition to Matthias Unbehaun, other participants included Zhenning Dong (Autonavi – China), Adam Game (Intelematics – Australia), Saurav Bhattacharayya (Quantum Inventions – Singapore), Claudio Martinez (Ibiquity – USA), and Jim O’Neill (GEWI – Germany/USA).

 

On 17 October, TISA President Thomas Kusche moderated the Executive session “Progressing safety for all users through ITS”. The session focused on the safety contribution of ITS for all users (including drivers, cyclists and pedestrians) and discuss how to ensure that road safety is a primary objective of utilising new transport technology.

 

During the week, by invitation of ITS Australia, Matthias Unbehaun presented the current activities of TISA in the area of Compliance Validation of services and devices implementations as well as evaluation of content quality.
