SUMMARY:InterCor PKI Security TESTFEST
DESCRIPTION:The second InterCor TESTFEST is being co-organised by the InterCor project together with French partners of the Scoop@F project. It will take place on April 23 – April 26 around the city of Reims\, France\, on the A4 and A344 highways. The main goal of this TESTFEST is to check the use of different Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs) and the authentication of messages sent from different ITS stations. Different security scenarios will be tested along with following services: \n\nRoadworks Warning (RWW) using DENM messages\, in particularProbe Vehicle Data (PVD) using CAM and DENM messages\n\nAlert neutralisation of part of a lane\, whole lane or several lanes\nAlert planned road works – mobile (e.g.  cutting the grass or renewing the lane markings)\nWinter maintenance – Salting in progress\n\n\nA V2V warning (OHLN) using DENM\n\nThe InterCor TESTFESTs are open to anyone active in this field. Interested public and private organisations (public authorities\, road operators\, systems suppliers\, services providers\, vehicle manufacturers\, etc.) are invited to register and to take part in this first TESTFEST. i.e. by bringing on-board units (suitable for the services) and vehicles to test the interoperability with the InterCor RSUs in France. \n  \nHighlights\nMain Security-PKI functionalities to be tested are: \n\nMessage Signature/verification\nThe use of pseudonym certificates\nTrust chain verification\n\nTechnical information\nTESTFEST #2 Test case specifications \nFor more information on the event\, visit the InterCor PKI TESTFEST website. \nFollow and engage with the TESTFEST on Twitter with hashtags #InterCorTESTFEST #PKI #ITS

SUMMARY:B-APCO eCall Conference
DESCRIPTION:The eCall conference staged by British-APCO\, is one of the first events in the UK to explore the implications of the eCall service\, (This applies to both the Private and the forth-coming public eCall Service). We’ll be discussing and debating important questions including: \n\nWhat do the eCall Chain stakeholders in the UK need to be doing to prepare for this new technology”?\n\n\nWhat are the implications for the emergency services\, is it all good news?\n\n\nWhat difference could eCall make to other services that support the emergency services\, how can this new way of notifying incidents be harnessed?\n\n\neCall is just the start of the technology linked to the Connected Car\, how will this affect operational deployments and tasking?\n\n\nWhat could the future bring in terms of the deployment of these technologies that are linked to Global Navigation Systems and Services and the provision of data to the emergency services.\n\nI_HeERO’s Technical Implementation Officer\, Andy Rooke – ERTICO – ITS Europe\, will give a presentation on eCall and the I_HeERO Project. \nDownload the programme \nMore information

SUMMARY:Improving Access to Healthcare through Intelligent Mobility
DESCRIPTION:  \nA workshop for everyone with an interest in transport\, health care delivery and developing age friendly transport. \nCo-design for service innovation is increasingly used to encourage user engagement in the human-centred design of complex systems and services. The biggest challenge in designing transport services with mobility in mind requires consideration of the public\, the decision makers and the system itself. The challenge is in the match of these systems of user requirements and data that is often beyond transport related. \nThis 2-days participatory workshop will show how open innovation and data-driven design can be realised through co-design with a human-centred approach for transport services. We will be working on a real problem – improving access to health care facilities for elders – which has been highlighted as a priority by the Age Friendly City Initiative in Coventry. Although some discussions may have a Coventry focus\, the problems\, methods and co-created solutions will be applicable to cities in the UK. The workshop will make possible an interaction between users\, stakeholders and the related data in order to achieve open innovation for a human-centred mobility services. \n

SUMMARY:Fitting Safety as Standard
DESCRIPTION:Lunch debate \nInés Ayala Sender MEP and the European Transport Safety Council have the pleasure of inviting you to a lunch debate on improving the night time visibility of lorries. \nIn 2011 around 4200 people died on EU roads in collisions involving Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and 75% of these road deaths were occupants of other vehicles. Road collisions involving HGVs tend to be more serious than other collisions because of the great size and mass of these vehicles. Part of these collisions are due to lateral and rear-end collisions at dusk or in the dark. \nDirective 2007/35/EC required\, from July 2008\, that HGVs with a minimum weight of 7.5 tonnes and trailers from a maximum mass of 3.5 tonnes\, must be fitted with retroflecting contour marking. This is a reflective sticky tape which marks the boundary of the rear and side of the goods transport vehicles. Thus\, conspicuity is improved in conditions of poor visibility\, at night or in adverse weather. These markings are mandatory for vehicles which have been registered after July 2011. \nBuilding on recent research carried out by SWOV\, this debate will discuss the social and safety benefits of retrofitting contour markings\, gathering representatives of road safety organisations\, academic experts\, police forces\, vehicle manufacturers and vehicle technology manufacturers. \nhttp://etsc.eu/fitting-safety-as-standard-night-time-visibility-for-lorries/?utm_source=ETSC&utm_campaign=0b9724c2bf-2016_1_12_contour_marking_invite&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_3a7b55edbf-0b9724c2bf-103277945

SUMMARY:Workshop "Adaptivity in Urban Traffic Control" – July 2\, 2015
DESCRIPTION:Alte Kongresshalle\, Theresienhöhe 15\, Munich\, Germany \nAdaptive control schemes to manage urban traffic are widely used across the world showing a big variety of functional and technical ways of implementation. Where transport science and industry are offering more and more solutions to cope with the different requirements stemming from the transport market\, cities face various challenges to use the offered technical potential in an optimal way – for the benefit of their urban traffic situation. The workshop aims to: \nShow current state of the art solutions as well as scientific steps into next generation urban traffic control\, provided by scientific research and transport industryDiscuss experiences of cities with various types of adaptive signal control in their networks – from success to failureExchange insights into the challenges of adaptive urban traffic control and identify barriers to unlock the claimed potential of provided systems. \nThe registration form is available here\n \nFor more information\, visit mobil-tum.vt.bgu.tum.de
