SUMMARY:Transport as a Commodity and Utility Virtual Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by ITS America\, ERTICO – ITS Europe and ITS Asia-Pacific\nCurated by MOD Alliance and MaaS Alliance \nIf\, at its core\, MOD/MaaS treats transportation supply and demand as commodities\, blending both public and private sector entities in a more singular customer-driven mobility service – is it possible for our public and private road and mobility operators to achieve a fully commoditized transportation? During the “ITS World Congress ALL-ACCESS”\, MaaS Alliance and MOD Alliance will host two sessions focusing on this. \nThe Global MOD/MaaS All Access will take two sessions to explore:\n• Part 1: Wednesday\, October 7 at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. EDT: Mobility Services as a Commodity – Does the Business Model Work? Join our distinguished panel as they pick up the threads of a controversial discussion that challenges the premise of Mobility as a Service and whether its promise to deliver choice to travelers and profit to companies can work. \n• Part 2: Thursday\, October 8 at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. EDT: Mobility Infrastructure as a Commodity – Can On-Demand Management Work? people argue that infrastructure should be treated more like a commodity than it has been\, that limited resources like the curb and sidewalks can be optimized and that there is money to be made. Our panel will explore if “on demand” mobility infrastructure is possible. \n“ITS World Congress ALL-ACCESS” an immersive digital education event series delivering interactive education sessions\, discussion groups\, live Q&As\, recommended content\, and vendor solution presentations in the form of case-studies\, keynotes and expert panels – all accessible on demand.

SUMMARY:H2020 Road Transport Research European Conference
DESCRIPTION:More than 70 projects dealing with road transport research funded under the Horizon 2020 Transport programme\, will present their results at the 4th edition of the H2020 Road Transport Research European Conference (#H2020RTR20). Amongst these\, ERTICO activities SAFE STRIP\, ELVITEN and C-MobILE will have the opportunity to share their results and advancments. \nCo-organised by the European Commission\, ERTRAC and EGVIA \, the H2020 Road Transport Research European Conference brings together leading-edge projects from road transport research to discuss their results\, and reflect on the future of the fields covered by their research. The participating projects this year cover a number of areas\, including green and electric vehicles; automated transport; safe\, efficient\, and resilient infrastructure; clean\, inclusive\, and safe mobility. \n\nRegistration\nDraft Agenda

SUMMARY:C-MobILE Final Event
DESCRIPTION:After 4 years the C-MobILE project comes to a conclusion with a final event which will look into the state of play and future perspectives of Cooperative Mobility Services for European Cities. \nThis online event is structured in two parts. The first part will focus on the final outcomes of C-MobILE: the real-life impact of C-ITS services deployed in eight cities / regions\, the public and private investments needed to implement and upscale such services\, and the market perspectives with focus on selected key exploitable results. \nThe second part will address the wider picture of the digital & green transformation and urban transition with a focus on ‘why\, how & what’ from the converging perspectives of Cooperative\, Connected & Automated Mobility\, interactive & predictive traffic management\, Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning\, Mobility as a Service / on Demand\, and the new ITS and EU urban mobility frameworks. \nTwo panel discussions will explore the implications of Cooperative Services for Urban Mobility and reveal the views of local authorities\, private industry\, end-users and the European policy makers. \nParticipation is free of charge\, but registration is required. SUMMARY:5G Corridors Workshop 2023
DESCRIPTION:On 10 October\, in Brussels\, the GUIDE project\, in collaboration with the European Commission and with the support of the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA)  and DG Connect\, is set to host a significant face-to-face workshop aimed at advancing the deployment of 5G corridors across Europe. Coen Bresser\, Senior Manager at ERTICO and ERTICO lead of the project will moderate a roundtable on lessons learnt from study to deployment with CEF 5G Corridor Project Coordinators. \nThe event is poised to review and discuss the two 5G Strategic Deployment Agendas published in 2020 concerning the fields of rail and road providing invaluable guidance to ongoing 5G corridor deployment efforts\, with active participation expected from both the public and private sectors. The event also seeks to foster collaboration and stimulate the development of EU-funded projects in the 5G corridor space. The workshop will build upon the foundation laid by the CEF Digital Call 1 projects and actively engage stakeholders in strategic dialogues with the aim of defining priority deployment roadmaps and exploring various cooperation models. Additionally\, the event will serve as a platform for sharing best practices and lessons learned from ongoing initiatives. \nThe deployment of 5G cross-border corridors along key transportation routes within Europe holds promise for the region’s green and digital transformation. In particular\, the implementation of 5G-enabled Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) is viewed as a catalyst for enhancing transport safety\, optimising traffic management\, reducing CO₂ emissions\, and boosting industrial competitiveness across all transportation and mobility sectors. This transformative potential extends to road\, rail\, waterways\, and logistics\, as they all stand to benefit from the advanced 5G infrastructure to optimize their respective use cases and services. \nIn a nutshell\, this workshop represents an important moment in the journey towards the widespread deployment of 5G corridors across Europe. It brings together key stakeholders\, experts\, and decision-makers to strategise\, share knowledge\, and foster cooperation in pursuit of the green and digital transformation of the EU economy and society. \n  \nFind out the agenda and register here to save your seat! \n
