SUMMARY:eCall #3 TESTFEST event
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd eCall TESTFEST event\, organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe and ETSI\, will be held from 27 to 31 October 2014 in Vigo\, Spain. This event will be hosted by CTAG in cooperation with CETECOM. \nAt the eCall TESTFEST event last year\, more than 30 vendors benefited from more than 300 test sessions to check the interoperability of their IVS or PSAP devices. With eCall now coming closer to the market\, verifying the eCall chain and in particular the compliancy to eCall standard requirements through different means of test is critical. This third eCall TESTFEST event is a unique opportunity to check your eCall implementation confidently against other devices and eCall standards requirements. \nThe eCall TESTFEST event enables vendors to run interoperability test sessions using test descriptions provided in approved guidlines. The event will bring more value with the debriefing sessions where experts can answer technical questions or solve interoperability issues. Additionally\, compliancy and performance checking sessions will be schedulded to complement the interoperability tests. \nPlease register here \n

SUMMARY:EU – Tatarstan Cooperation on ITS
DESCRIPTION:Earlier this year the Ministry of Information & Communication Technologies from Tatarstan\, Russia\, joined the ERTICO Partnership together with Inspectra\, a private ITS company. The reason was to learn from the ERTICO Partnership how different ITS solutions could be implemented as effectively as possible. \nTogether with Tatarstan stakeholders from the ITS Community we have identified three topics\, which are of highest priority in Tatarstan: \n· eCall / ERA GLONASS implementation \n· C-ITS – V2X communication and the services this would provide; \n· Building a mutual educational ITS platform between Russia and Europe. \nTo facilitate the set-up of potential collaboration in Tatarstan\, ERTICO – ITS Europe and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and Inspectra would like to invite the ERTICO Partners to actively participate in a workshop to be held in the capital Kazan 15-16th October 2014. \nHowever before we finalise the logistics around this workshop we would like you to express your interest in participating. In addition Partners interested in giving a presentation on topics related to the three area defined above are kindly asked to do so using the link below. \nhttps://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EUTatarstan \nLogistical information will be provided once the registration form is submitted to ERTICO. \n  \n

SUMMARY:European Transport Forum
DESCRIPTION:Building an interconnected European Transport System: the key to achieve a sustainable Single European Transport Area? \nThe European Transport Forum will be articulated around two panel debates: \nThe first panel will focus on goods mobility: \nThe deployment of Intelligent Transport Solutions and cooperative systems introduces advanced traffic management capacities to freight transport and paves the way to build a connected intermodal transport system for Europe. How to ensure this pan-European harmonisation and how to speed up the process in order to improve logistics efficiency? Who are the needed stakeholders and how should they cooperate to make it happen? What does it request from authorities? \nThe second panel will focus on people mobility: \nCombining Intermodal transport services and ITS should also help achieving sustainable mobility for the citizens in urban areas. Is it already a reality in some European cities? What does it request from local authorities? Can the citizens already use a multi modal journey planner for their own mobility? Is there a need for an EU wide approach? \n  \nhttp://www.europeantransportforum.eu/

SUMMARY:International Conference Connected Vehicles
DESCRIPTION:Connected vehicles hold the promise of increased safety and security\, better network efficiency\, improved traffic management and reduced environmental impact. \nCar makers\, mobile-network operators\, insurers\, IT solutions providers all are looking towards this new market to boost their sales and turn the upcoming eCall regulation into a source of profit rather than an additional cost. \nHowever\, connected vehicles can only be developed as part of a standardised eco-system. The question is: how can actors from very diverse industry backgrounds co-operate to set up profitable business models and avoid the chicken and egg dilemma? Regulation\, big data\, multi-industry cooperation: these are the key drivers of the next paradigm shift in transportation. \nThis International conference held in Brussels will bring together policy makers\, public authorities and executives from a broad range of sectors to discuss the future of smart mobility and the opportunities and risks in developing products and services to build up an ecosystem of connected vehicles and intelligent road networks. \nFor more information\, click here. \n

SUMMARY:ITS World Congress 2014 - Detroit
DESCRIPTION:The Intelligent Transportation Society of America\, ERTICO–ITS Europe\, and ITS Japan will host the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems in Detroit\, Michigan from September 7-11\, 2014\, bringing together more than 10\,000 of the world’s leading transportation policy makers\, technology\, and business professionals.\nTechnology Demonstration Participants Sought for 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems\nThe conference organizers are planning to feature a live demonstration of ITS technologies.  In order to facilitate planning efforts\, the Technology Showcase Committee invites interested organizations to submit a pre-application to participate in the World Congress technology demonstrations. \nThe purpose for this pre-application is to ascertain whether an organization is interested in participating in the technology demonstrations and to collect a general description of what an organization may be considering for demonstration. \nSubmission of this application will serve as an organization’s intent to participate. A formal application process will occur at a later date\, which will be an expanded version of this form. At this time\, information submitted will be considered the demonstrator’s best guess at their possible demonstration. Submission of the pre-application will allow an organization earlier access to the planning process to include teleconferences\, face-to-face meetings\, and information dissemination. \nDownload the pre- application here.

SUMMARY:FOT-Net Data International Workshop on Data Sharing
DESCRIPTION:FOT-Net Data International Workshop on Data Sharingorganised in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)COBO Congress Centre (ITS Congress Venue)\, room 140A\, DetroitSunday 7 September 201409:00-15:30(before the ITS World Congress opening ceremony) \nFree of charge\, but please register at: www.fot-net.eu \nThis workshop aims to exchange information on FOTs and data sharing between the three regions (Europe\, Asia-Pacific and North America)\, discuss problems and solutions for data sharing and provide recommendations for a global data sharing framework. In this workshop we will have discussions in small groups\, addressing either more technical questions or more organisational questions. This workshop is meant for everyone interested in data sharing\, people working in FOTs\, decision makers in private and public organisations\, data experts and transport researchers. \nFor more details and the preliminary agenda\, please click here. \n \nPaper Presentation “A platform for sharing data from field operational tests”Detroit\, September 2014 \nDuring the Technical and Scientific Program at the Detroit Congress\, FOT-Net Data will also organise a paper presentation. Exact location and date will be communicated in due time. \nThe paper describes how a platform is being developed for sharing data collected in FOTs. In these tests often a huge amount of data is gathered about driver behaviour and the interaction between drivers\, vehicles\, ITS\, infrastructure and the traffic environment. These datasets are often only partly analysed because of targeted research goals and lack of resources. They may be of great value for other organisations and researchers in order to answer further research questions and to determine the impact of wide-scale use of ITS. The paper will describe a how a European platform for enabling data sharing and data re-use is being developed. \n
