SUMMARY:TN-ITS DATA EXCHANGE WITH A FOCUS ON ISA
DESCRIPTION:ERTICO innovation platform TN-ITS has a direct implication on enhancing road safety. Fresh and accurate data exchange between road authorities and map makers can significantly reduce road casualties. \nExceeding the speed limits is one of the top reasons for road casualties. There is an imperative need to focus data advancements on this matter. \nTN-ITS\, within the NAPCORE project\, aligns with the ISA Fit project\, the all-in-retro-ISA solution for urban environments. The project can leverage the TN-ITS data chain mechanism to ensure the success of the Intelligence Speed Assistance (ISA) system deployment. \nNext 13-14 October\, ISA Fit will hold a training session in the city of Helmond (NL) to find out the road data exchange opportunities within the ISA framework. \nDuring the session\, TN-ITS members will delve into the system assessment and EU scalability. \n  \nFind out the programme and registration details in the following link: https://isa-fit.eu/registration-tn-its-isa-fit-helmond/

SUMMARY:EU Drone Days: Commission’s Drone Strategy 2.0
DESCRIPTION:The Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking are organising this year’s edition of the EU Drone Days\, taking place 29-30 November in Brussels. Throughout the event\, participants will gain key insights into the European Commission’s Drone Strategy 2.0.\, and discuss how ready the European drone sector is to make U-space a reality. \nThe EU Drone Days will kick off with the launch of the forward-looking European Drone Strategy 2.0\, intended to foster the uptake of drone technology while ensuring safety\, security and social acceptance. Panel discussions with industry and policy experts will examine the areas covered by the Strategy\, including innovative air mobility and aerial services and strengthening European civil\, security and defence industry capabilities. European Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean\, and Director-General for Mobility and Transport Henrik Hololei will speak at the event. Participants can also enjoy an exhibition of the latest industry innovations in urban air mobility and SESAR 2020 U-space projects on the second day of the event. \n“ERTICO – ITS Europe with interest follows the eagerly anticipated release of the Drone Strategy 2.0 at the upcoming EU Drone Days event in Brussels later this month. The ever-expanding and ever-so-exciting futuristic urban mobility space will now have de facto its third dimension\, and people’s and good’s journeys will have a new axis in the multimodal consideration in both planning and operational sense. We at ERTICO consider Urban Air Mobility (UAM) as a complementary transport of smart mobility in smart cities in the context of responsible innovation for sustainable and integrated urban mobility\, and it should be perceived as part of the wider Mobility Network Management (MNM) concept. It builds on the experience of pioneering European cities and regions that have been involved early on with the topic of urban air mobility. It follows with the description of city- and region- cases in dealing with the topic of UAM in the context of supporting their urban and mobility policy goals. With the publication of the formal strategy prepared to address these challenges\, the European Commission brought us one step closer to what once was thought to be science fiction is now an operational reality.” \nFind more information about the EU Drone Days.

SUMMARY:50th ATEC Congress ITS France
DESCRIPTION:From 18 – 19 January\, at the gates of Paris\, the 50th ATEC ITS France Congress will bring together all the players and stakeholders to present the latest innovations\, encourage meetings between clients and solution providers and the deployment of new projects. This yearly event\, organised by ATEC ITS France\, is dedicated to facilitating the networking of experts to share knowledge and promote the latest industry innovations in the ITS sector. On the first day\, Mr Joost Vantomme\, ERTICO CEO\, has the pleasure of being invited as a panellist to the discussion on Decarbonisation of Mobility Infrastructure: France and Europe Aligned\, taking place at 2 PM (CET).   \nLast year\, Mr Vantomme delivered a welcome speech and highlighted the 2022 ITS European Congress in Toulouse. This time\, he will discuss the link between ITS technologies\, decarbonisation and air quality\, touching upon some of ERTICO’s activities\, such as the City Moonshot Initiative\, including the latest results and the next steps. Another key message in Mr Vantomme’s presentation will highlight the fact that ITS should be recognised as an enabler for decarbonisation\, so the joint efforts with the ERTICO Partnership and its stakeholders are accounted for and validated as sustainable investments in the taxonomy regulatory framework. On this note\, the topic of the panel discussion is also of high relevance to the 2023 ITS European Congress\, hosted in Lisbon from 22 – 24 May\, and in particular\, the Plenary Session on Digitalisation – what can mobility users expect? which will focus on what the real benefit of data sharing is and how best to tackle the challenges\, perceived or real. \n“Decarbonisation is a hot topic this year to ERTICO and all stakeholders in the field but also for European cities. ATEC ITS France Congress will be a great opportunity for everyone to kick off this discussion”\, remarks Mr Vantomme. “We will continue to deepen this debate at the Lisbon Congress and its dedicated ITS Summit\, linking the topic of decarbonisation with ‘Smart Urban Mobility for Cities and Regions‘.

SUMMARY:NAVISP opportunity offered to discuss your ideas using PNT
DESCRIPTION:NAVISP opportunity offered to discuss your ideas on using Positioning\, Navigation and Timing to revolutionize Connected\, Cooperative\, Autonomous Mobility (CCAM). Take this opportunity to submit your idea for the open Call for Proposals on CCAM.  \nESA’s Navigation Innovation and Support Programme (NAVISP)\, in cooperation with ERTICO-ITS Europe\, has launched a Thematic Window soliciting proposals from European industry\, institutions\, and research organizations to advance the use of Positioning\, Navigation and Timing (PNT) information in the domain of Connected Cooperative Autonomous Mobility (CCAM). From 26  to 27 January\, NAVISP will offer the opportunity to book 30-minute time slots to discuss your ideas\, answer questions\, and help you develop your project design and Outline proposal. Please book your personal appointment here \nOn the Thematic Window \nVehicle automation has gained considerable momentum in recent years. The use of complementary technologies is already evident daily\, with a clear trend toward adopting (semi-) autonomous solutions. Most of these solutions operate in a distributed and decentralized manner\, so they require communication and connectivity between the elements in the system. As a result\, demand is growing for vehicles that cooperate and coordinate with each other and with infrastructure to perform more complex mobility tasks\, providing a safer and more comfortable driving experience and enabling more sustainable forms of transportation. \nThe provision of ubiquitous positioning\, navigation\, and timing (PNT) information as well as the full situation awareness of vehicles in the system\, belong to the main challenges that need to be countered in the future. Possible PNT solutions for CCAM are as diverse as their application areas and offer technological opportunities not only for passenger cars but also for buses\, trucks\, and entire infrastructures. This allows for more customized applications such as advanced traffic and parking management\, new driving assistance systems\, next-generation on-board units or traffic pricing systems. Thus\, integrating complementary and alternative PNT technologies in CCAM systems from tomorrow can reduce congestion\, increase efficiency\, minimize energy consumption\, reduce emissions\, avoid accidents\, and thus provide more sustainable modes of transportation overall. \nMore information related to the Thematic Window can be found here. \nDifferent potential application areas\, related to the integration of PNT information covering different goals and addressing different challenges\, to serve as illustration for what the market is currently looking for.

SUMMARY:Fit for 55 Evening Summit
DESCRIPTION:Transportation accounts for up to a third of Europe’s total carbon emissions. The non-CO2 effects of transport emissions\, combined with the technological and policy challenges associated with the sector’s mitigation and reduction of emissions makes decarbonising transportation uniquely challenging. \n\nEurope has sought to face this challenge through a package of measures derived from the European Climate Law\, the European Green Deal\, and the Fit for 55 package of measures. The methods and methodologies through which the European Union has conceived and introduced  transport emissions-beating measures must still be debated\, discussed\, understood\, and explained; Issue II of the Green Mobility Magazine and the Green Mobility Magazine Fit for 55 Evening Summit will attempt to achieve these goals. \n\n\n\n\nThe Evening Summit will provide magazine contributors\, esteemed guests\, sustainability experts\, and transport professionals the opportunity to connect and to discuss Fit for 55\, green mobility\, energy\, and current affairs during a high-level cocktail reception. \n\n\n\nSummit attendees can expect to debate and discuss current issues\, exchange their thoughts on Issue II of the Green Mobility Magazine\, and benefit from unmatched insights from our partners and a headline speaker. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister here.
