DESCRIPTION:Save the Date! \nWEBINAR: “LONG TERM SOCIO-ECONOMIC EFFECT OF MOBILITY AUTOMATION IN CITIES “ \n28 March 201414:30- 15:30 Brussels time (CET) \nSpeaker: Dr. Adriano Alessandrini (UniRoma)Moderator: Dr. Maxime Flament (ERTICO – ITS Europe) \nHow will the urban ecosystem change once the road vehicles will drive themselves? What will be the impact of these changes on industry\, citizens and urban life-style?The Citymobil2 project\, focusing on putting fully automated road transport systems in the market\, started to reflect on what the consequences of this sudden shift toward automation will be for cities and beyond.Far from having an answer for all questions\, the project has so far prepared a “blue-print” in which automation take-up scenarios are investigated and main drivers and potential consequences of each are sketched. The project will bring experts together (end of summer 2015) to discuss the scenarios in a Delphi procedure and any contribution from industries\, cities and transport operator is essential. \nA Q&A session moderated by Maxime Flament will conclude the webinar. \nTO REGISTER:Click Here \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. \nContact \nMaxime FlamentHead of Sector SafeMobility – ERTICO – ITS EuropeVRA Project Coordinatorm.flament@mail.ertico.com \nDavide BrizzolaraProject Support Manager – ERTICO – ITS Europed.brizzolara@mail.ertico.com \nAbout VRA \nVRA – Vehicle and Road Automation is a support action funded by the European Union to create a collaboration network of experts and stakeholders working on deployment of automated vehicles and its related infrastructure. \nThe VRA project is considered as the cooperation interface between EC funded projects\, international relations and national activities on the topic of vehicle and road automation. \nVRA is financed by the European Commission DG CONNECT and coordinated by ERTICO – ITS Europe. \nFor additional information: VRA Official Website \n

SUMMARY:Compass4D: the real deployment of ITS services
DESCRIPTION:In the past few years\, the deployment of intelligent transport systems has been very high on the political agendas of the European Commission (through specific directives) and city authorities (though the development of urban mobility plans). Cities are now ready for full implementation of ITS and are waiting for smart and cost-effective mobility solutions. Also the users\, such as fleet operators are asking for smart solutions to save fuel and reduce the emissions’ impact on the environment. We are ready for the last step towards a large scale deployment \nCompass4D is the missing link between policy and action. \nIn a combined workshop and showcase event\, we will discuss the necessary actions: \n\nWhat should cities do? What do cities expect from the industry?\nWhat is the role of European\, national and local authorities?\nWhich are the appropriate business models to guarantee a successful C-ITS deployment?\n\nOn 4 April\, the Compass4D consortium welcomes you to Helmond (The Netherlands) to answer these questions and to show some of the ITS services for safer and cleaner transport in a real traffic environment. A high level panel of ITS experts\, user groups and politicians will give their views on smart mobility deployment. \nA high level panel of ITS experts\, user groups\, public authorities and politicians (including EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn) will give their views on smart mobility deployment. To view all the speakers\, download the agenda. \nParticipation is for free\, but registration is required. Number of seats is limited. Please register here. \n \n

SUMMARY:Content & Apps for Automotive Europe 2014
DESCRIPTION:Munich\, GermanyApril 8-9\, 2014 \n  \nHarness eCall’s open platform to deliver Value Added Services in the Connected Car \nThe eCall initiative was given a big boost last week when the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee accepted the EC’s proposal to make the system required for all new cars from October 2015. \nThis has also come as welcome news to automakers who intend to leverage the platform to deliver deeper content\, on top of emergency assistance – a topic high up on the agenda at Content & Apps for Automotive Europe 2014 (April 8-9\, Munich). \neCall – The platform the auto–infotainment industry has been waiting for? \nWith all the signs suggesting that eCall will arrive in time for October 2015\, OEMS\, tier 1s and app developers are now seeing the urgency in exploring content opportunity on the eCall platform\, with some infotainment professionals feeling grateful that the European Commission has mandated the initiative. Excitement stems from eCalls ability to allow easy integration of third-party services that are attractive to consumers. These include connected navigation\, remote vehicle control and remote diagnostics which can be integrated in a cost-effective manner. How much of an impact eCall can make within the infotainment space\, in addition to its primary function\, will be debated at the Conference in April. \nOne of the speakers\, sitting on the panel\, ‘eCall: An Alternative Platform to Deliver Value-Added Services’\, is Andy Rooke\, Senior Project Manager\, ERTICO. Mr Rooke commented: “The continued progress of the eCall legislation is now providing a clear route for the automotive industry to grasp the potential opportunities offered by the mandation of Pan-European eCall. However there is a clear need for the industry to be innovative in its approach to both satisfy the legal requirements of eCall and to offer services to their customers that will ensure long-lasting and meaningful customer retention and brand loyalty”. \nAt this very exciting time for the infotainment industry\, Telematics Update will bring together 30+ expert speakers to discuss the crucial challenges of the IVI space\, making the Content and Apps for Automotive Europe 2014 Conference the must attend event for all dedicated automotive infotainment professionals. The full agenda and speaker line-up can be found here: http://www.telematicsupdate.com/contenteu/ \nAs well as harnessing eCall for deeper content\, c-level speakers will dissect key topics including: \n· Create a Standout Automotive User Interface \n· De-Bunk the In-Car App Store Myths \n· Break Down ‘Big Data’ to Create Next-Gen Apps \n· The Future of the Auto Operating System \n· And more sessions addressing business model and content/app integration challenges \nSpeakers Recently Announced: \n· Dr. Johann Prenninger\, Head of Field Data Analytics\, BMW \nSiegfried Schuler\, Director Connected Services Technical Sales Europe\, Harman \nKenneth Malmburg\, New Business Development\, Global Connected Consumer\, General Motors \nThe full agenda and speaker line-up is available on the website: \nhttp://www.telematicsupdate.com/contenteu/conference-agenda.php \nTestimonials and Tributes from the Industry \nOf Content and Apps for Automotive Europe 2014\, a representative from John Deere stated\, “Most informative telematics conference I have been to.” \nGeneral Motors added: “Excellent conference. No sales pitch\, non-stop intellectual debate on all important issues related to apps/contents in auto industry!” \nRegister your place at Content and Apps for Automotive Europe 2014 \nRegister via the secure link below by this Friday (14th March) to secure a €100 discount: \nhttps://secure.telematicsupdate.com/contenteu/register.php \n· Limited discounted hotel rooms left \n· Register while group booking discounts are still available \nFor press enquiries\, please contact Ben Bathurst – bbathurst@telematicsupate.com \nAbout Telematics Update: \nTelematics Update Conferences are the most prestigious in the industry.
