SUMMARY:Webinar EU-CEM Handbook for CCAM – European Common Evaluation Methodology
DESCRIPTION:The EC-funded FAME (Framework for coordination of Automated Mobility in Europe) Action supports the commitment of the European Commission and the CCAM Partnership to provide a long-term coordination framework for R&I and large-scale testing and evaluation activities in Europe. \nAs part of this European framework for testing on public roads\, FAME has developed the European Common Evaluation Methodology for Connected\, Cooperative and Automated Mobility – EU-CEM Handbook for CCAM\, providing guidance for how to lay the foundation for a successful evaluation of CCAM\, particularly impact assessment. EU-CEM aims to ensure high quality evaluation\, which provides reliable input for decision- and policy-making\, for both industry and authorities. \nThe first draft of the EU-CEM handbook was published in May 2024\, followed by a summer school and several workshops to get input for finalising the handbook. In addition\, over 30 experts provided feedback. The complete version of EU-CEM Handbook for CCAM will be published in May 2025 (available here). Using the EU-CEM will make it easier to compare and complement evaluation results from both European and national projects. It provides a common vocabulary to help projects communicate their approaches and findings to the CCAM community and to society. \nThis webinar introduces the EU-CEM handbook content\, and tells how new learnings can be shared in its future updates. The webinar is of interest to anyone involved in evaluating CCAM systems and services\, in existing projects and in proposal writing. \nRegister to the webinar here. \nAgenda \n\nWelcome and agenda – Yvonne Barnard (University of Leeds)\n\n\nIntroduction to FAME – Stephane Dreher (ERTICO\, FAME project coordinator)\n\n\nIntroduction to the EU-CEM – Satu Innamaa (VTT)\n\n\nGuidelines for the project preparation phase – Isabel Wilmink (TNO)\n\n\nGuidelines for how to set an evaluation plan – Satu Innamaa (VTT)\n\n\nEvaluation area specific guidelines – Elina Aittoniemi (VTT)\n\n\nQ&A – Yvonne Barnard (University of Leeds)\n\n\nWrap-up and next steps – Yvonne Barnard (University of Leeds)

SUMMARY:FAME Final Event
DESCRIPTION:After three years of work\, the EC-funded FAME project will present their results during several distinct online sessions\, which can be followed separately\, and in isolation\, according to one’s centre of interest. \nThe main mission of FAME has been to engage CCAM stakeholders and capitalize on shared knowledge\, to improve cooperation\, consensus building and data sharing for CCAM testing and large-scale demonstration activities in Europe. \nFAME approach is based on the integration and further development of existing elements such as stakeholder networks (e.g. CCAM Partnership) and the CAD Knowledge Base\, namely to provide a long-term coordination framework for R&I and large-scale testing and evaluation activities in Europe. \nFAME European framework for testing on public roads includes a Common Evaluation Methodology\, a CCAM Test Data Space\, a Taxonomy tool\, an ethics framework\, and an inventory of current legislation\, approval processes and procedures. It is intended to enable comparability\, complementarity and upscaling of R&I results for future research\, development and testing of CCAM-enabled solutions and services\, and facilitate the evaluation of their wider impacts. \nEach “building block” will present their detailed results in dedicated sessions (for which you can register separately)\, after a general overview session\, which will also highlight other stand-alone results such as policy briefs or the EUCAD networking events\, which FAME co-organised with the European Commission and the CCAM Partnership. \nThe detailed agenda and separate registration details per session are as follows: \nThe detailed agenda and separate registration details per session are as follows: \n09:00-10:30 General Overview\n\nRegister\n\nAgenda\n\nIntroduction about FAME\n\n\n\nMain objectives & expected outcomes\nOverview of main achievements\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStakeholder engagement & cooperation\n\n\n\nOverview CCAM stakeholder ecosystem\nStakeholder events\nInternational cooperation\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPolicy dialogue & recommendations\n\n\nOverview European Framework for public roads testing\n\n\n\nGeneral overview\nTaxonomy\nEuropean Common Evaluation Methodology for CCAM (EU-CEM)\n\n\n\n\n\n11:00-12:00 CAD Knowledge Base\n\nRegister\n\nPresentation of the Knowledge Base\, its different content types\, demonstrating how to navigate through the different sections and what can be found under each specific one\, as well as the further plans for its development and improvement. \n14:00-14:45 CCAM Data Sharing Framework & Test Data Space\n\nRegister\n\nThis session will present more in details the CCAM Data Sharing Framework and CCAM Test Data Demonstrator. \nThe CCAM Data Sharing Framework builds on knowledge and best practices of 15+ years of managing data from testing ADAS and CCAM on public roads. The framework cover agreements and legal frameworks\, data protection\, data and metadata description\, as well as administrative procedures and data governance. What is new: federated data sharing is covered as a mean to increase and facilitate data sharing in the CCAM domain. \nThe CCAM Test Data Space implements the principles of the Data Sharing Framework\, into a data space prototype. This session will demonstrate the capabilities of the data space\, its functions\, and how to ensure trust between the actors. Furthermore\, the session will outline the future governance and development of the data space. \n15:00-15:45 Recommendations for a European framework for testing on public roads: harmonized legislation & procedures for permit\n\nRegister\n\nThe regulatory landscape on testing CCAM on public roads differ between EU member states. This hinder efficient testing schemes and cross-border testing. In the FAME project\, an inventory of all EU member states + Norway\, Switzerland and the UK was made\, underlining the different approaches (by 2023). \nThis session will cover recommendations for harmonized legislation & procedures for permit. The recommendations include the approval process\, monitoring\, ethical considerations\, and mutual recognition (handling cross-border testing). \n(find the original post here)

SUMMARY:Vehicle Automation Symposium: Getting to SAE Level 4™
DESCRIPTION:Last year\, prompted by industry demand\, SAE International embarked on organising a symposium which took place in Frankfurt. Given the positive response following this event\, the event will be hosted each year\, aiming to address implementation challenges in the realm of SAE L4. ERTICO is pleased to have been invited to attend and contribute to this second edition of their new annual event. \nSAE has envisioned this symposium as an opportunity for key individuals to delve into these challenges and collaboratively explore potential solutions. Speakers will have the opportunity to address their issues and solutions facing SAE L4 implementations leading to open discussions and exchange of ideas with other industry professionals\, policy makers\, engineers etc. \nTo help the industry advance\, this event shares the exchange of practical experiences from leading experts representing OEMs\, government agencies and discrete part developers representing both hardware and software perspectives to answer the question – how do we get to mass deployment of L4 vehicles? Real-world applications will be featured in this event including point-to-point (robotaxi) to long-haul commercial vehicles. Take this opportunity to network and problem-solve at an event from the organisation that designed the levels of driving automation. \nTopics to be addressed include: \n\nSecurity and Connectivity\nStandards\nLegislation and Adoption of L4\nVerification and validation\nSystem Architecture\nSensors and Actuators\n\nThe maximum capacity of this event is limited\, please reserve your spot. Find more information about the event here. \nThis event will include plenty of networking opportunities during coffee breaks\,  lunches and dinner.
