SUMMARY:Connected Vehicles
DESCRIPTION:Connected vehicles hold the promise of increased safety and security\, better network efficiency\, improved traffic management and reduced environmental impact. \nCar makers\, mobile-network operators\, insurers\, IT solutions providers… all are looking towards this new market to boost their sales and turn the upcoming eCall regulation into a source of profit rather than an additional cost. \nHowever\, connected vehicles can only be developed as part of a standardised eco-system. The question is: how can actors from very diverse industry backgrounds co-operate to set up profitable business models and avoid the chicken and egg dilemma? Regulation\, big data\, multi-industry cooperation: these are the key drivers of the next paradigm shift in transportation. \nThis unique event held in Brussels\, on 18 September 2014\, will bring together policy makers\, public authorities and C-level executives from a broad range of sectors to discuss the future of smart mobility and the opportunities and risks in developing products and services to build up an ecosystem of connected vehicles and intelligent road networks. \n3 reasons to attend : \n\nLearn about the development prospects and market dynamics across sectors to keep up to speed with the connected revolution\nFind out how to design viable economic models addressing the needs of each market player within the value chain\nListen to pioneers’ best practices for setting up and managing successful portfolios of connected products and services\n\nRegisiter now!

SUMMARY:Telematics Valley Conference 2014
DESCRIPTION:Venue: Volvohallen in Gothenburg (Sweden) \n  \nTo see the program go to : http://www.telematicsvalley.org/international-conference-2014/program/ \nBooking can be made at http://www.telematicsvalley.org/international-conference-2014/registration/ and it is possible to use a credit card or mark that you want an invoice. \n  \nThe Conference Program this year will address the large number of actions from the players in the Telematics/ M2M space. We see strategic acquisitions\, mergers and partnerships that will lead to new business offers and raise the question who will be the competitor\, supplier or customer tomorrow\, it might shift soon. The most sensitive question is – who will own the customer? Besides the above\, the Cloud is having huge impact on traditional business as it can by-pass our established distribution channels and deliver combined services not possible before due to complexity and cost. The impact of this must not be underestimated. Many companies taking today’s business models for granted may find themselves competing in a completely different business environment tomorrow. We will also highlight the changes in the Truck and Transportation industry where e.g. Fleet Management Systems are becoming more and more important but also there is a need for better decision-making information. Openness is maybe a buzzword but it is more than that. The commercial vehicle manufacturers have to decide if and how to share onboard platform technology and generated data to meet the customer’s demands. Smart City is becoming a description of where most of us will live in the future but what roles can Telematics/ M2M/ Internet of Things play. Listen to speakers that have focused on understanding and predicting this development.

SUMMARY:European Transport Forum
DESCRIPTION:Building an interconnected European Transport System: the key to achieve a sustainable Single European Transport Area? \nThe European Transport Forum will be articulated around two panel debates: \nThe first panel will focus on goods mobility: \nThe deployment of Intelligent Transport Solutions and cooperative systems introduces advanced traffic management capacities to freight transport and paves the way to build a connected intermodal transport system for Europe. How to ensure this pan-European harmonisation and how to speed up the process in order to improve logistics efficiency? Who are the needed stakeholders and how should they cooperate to make it happen? What does it request from authorities? \nThe second panel will focus on people mobility: \nCombining Intermodal transport services and ITS should also help achieving sustainable mobility for the citizens in urban areas. Is it already a reality in some European cities? What does it request from local authorities? Can the citizens already use a multi modal journey planner for their own mobility? Is there a need for an EU wide approach? \n  \nhttp://www.europeantransportforum.eu/

SUMMARY:Help design the future Internet of Mobility - Join the MOBiNET workshop and webinar
DESCRIPTION:Do you provide\, develop or use online services for transport and travel? Then this workshop is important for you and your business!\nConnected travel and transport services are typically proprietary and few offer truly Europe-wide coverage or interoperability. Users need significant effort to discover these services; as do service providers and developers willing to expand their business and customer base\, which requires a lot of searching and case-by-case negotiations. \nMOBiNET provides an e-marketplace to connect different business actors\, e.g. transport data suppliers\, fleet operators\, network managers and service providers\, looking to develop or expand their offer in the transport and mobility domain. Sellers and buyers can publish and trade data and services\, discover and re-use third-party content to create new services for their customers; contractual (service level agreements\, billing & clearing) and legal (liability\, privacy\, certification) aspects are managed automatically. This will open an ‘Internet of Mobility’ offering a wide range of innovative applications for business users\, commuters and travellers\, and a gateway to millions of potential customers across Europe for service providers. \nThe creation of an open marketplace for local or Europe-wide providers calls for the establishment of a suitable legal organisation\, with clear rules and common practice among the members\, to provide a trusted and stable business environment. Join the MOBiNET Community: be among the first “approved” providers and help set up the rules\, agree on the mission and strategic vision of the future operational platform. \nThe agenda includes a live demonstration of a MOBiNET-enabled Parking Service in North Denmark\, followed by a discussion on the business model and organisation of the MOBiNET Community. \nRegister for the workshop (free of charge) and webinar hereunder: \nLocation: NORDKRAFT Center\, Kjellerups Torv\, Aalborg\, Denmark Agenda: http://www.mobinet.eu/sites/default/files/20141014-MOBiNET-AGE-Provider%20Community%20Launch-draft.pdf Registration for the workshop: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/help-design-the-future-internet-of-mobility-join-the-mobinet-community-tickets-12329791739 Registration for the webinar: https://www4.gotomeeting.com/register/774903743

SUMMARY:MEDUSA final event on E-GNSS for freight transport\, road and ITS
DESCRIPTION:The Euromed GNSS II/MEDUSA project will launch its final event on E-GNSS for freight transport\, road and ITS in Amman on 21 October 2014. \nOrganized by MEDUSA\, under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport of Jordan\, the event has a Euromed regional target and it is focused on the use of GNSS/EGNOS for freight and road transport\, and particularly on the real experience conducted in the frame of MEDUSA by the Royal Jordanian Customs. Thanks to MEDUSA\, with the support of European companies involved in the project and with the aid of the Ministry of Transport of Jordan\, since April 2014\, the Royal Jordanian Customs are having the opportunity to test and validate the use of EGNOS for tracking and tracing containers shipped across the Mediterranean sea and vehicles transporting goods in Jordan. \nDuring the event\, the participants will have the occasion to share the lessons learnt from this Jordan’s “case study”\, to be informed about relevant best practices in Europe and in the Euromed region\, as well as to debate about strategies and possible ways forward\, in the light of national interests and common regional perspectives. \nEuromed and European stakeholders\, mainly from the satellite navigation sector and from the transport and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) communities\, will participate in the event. \nThe final agenda of the event can be found here \nThe participation in the event is free of charge. \n

SUMMARY:Mobility 2050
DESCRIPTION:Is your company or organization on the sidelines? Or is it moving forward? \n35 years ago\, the personal computer was invented. 27 years ago the mobile phone. Today\, we are overwhelmed with new technological developments. Some of these innovations will hold a significant role within our transport methods. Where we will be within 35 years (2050) is hard to predict. Which way we will evolve\, is slowly getting clear. \nVIM (Flanders Institute for Mobility) organizes the congress ‘Mobility 2050′\, on October 23 in Brussels. Be part of a debate with Magda Kopczynska from the European Commission and with Ben Weyts\, Flanders’ Minister for Mobility and Public Works. Get inspired by (inter)national key speakers from the United Kingdom\, Denmark\, the Netherlands and Belgium. Experience the newest innovations. But above all: look forward and join us towards 2050. \nFor more information\, click here
