SUMMARY:TN-ITS Specifications for Road Data Exchange in Europe
DESCRIPTION:The TN-ITS platform\, coordinated by ERTICO\, was inaugurated in 2013 and brings together a number of road authorities and leading map & service providers to further develop the harmonised and automated exchange of (changes) of road data on European roads. The focus is clearly on ‘static’ road attributes\, which are vital elements of a reference geospatial base layer\, enabling reliable services as route planning\, navigation\, ADAS\, vehicle automation\, etc. This refers to changes of Speed Restrictions\, Traffic Signs\, Parking Information\, EV Charging Points\, etc. \nThe platform acts as the keeper of the TN-ITS Technical Specifications\, which were released by CEN in 2018 (CEN TS 17268) and describe the exchange data model\, the format and the interface. A dedicated working group on Specifications interacts with the TN-ITS service deployment projects (TN-ITS GO)\, other relevant standardisation platforms in Europe\, and the major stakeholders – including the European Commission. It is also responsible for maturing/extending the Technical Specifications and ensuring these specs are aligned with those in ‘related’ domains as traffic\, public transport\, EVs\, etc. \nThis webinar will provide a general introduction to the Technical Specifications. \nFirst\, the President of the TN-ITS\, Christian Kleine\, from HERE will give a concise overview of the platform. He will be followed by Stephen T’Siobbel\, the specifications working group leader representing ERTICO\, who will discuss the high level aspects of the TN-ITS specifications. \nA deeper dive will be provided by Knut Jetlund from the Norwegian Public Road Authorities\, a former member of the CEN project team that shaped the TS from earlier research results\, and a spatial data / standardisation expert. \nNext we have invited a (Linked) Open Data expert to elaborate upon the (technical) connection between TN-ITS and the Open Data world. We conclude with proposing a number of relevant upcoming actions and initiatives by our project manager Frank Daems from ERTICO. \nAdditional information about the webinar and regular updates can be found on LinkedIn on the TN-ITS page. \nREGISTER HERE \n

SUMMARY:CONCORDA Final Action Event
DESCRIPTION:The ‘CONCORDA Final Action Event’ will take place on 31 May 2021.Since October 2017 the CONCORDA (Connected Corridor for Driving Automation) project contributed to the preparation of European motorways for automated driving and high density truck platooning with adequate connected services and technologies. This wrap-up webinar will present the results of four years of work by the consortium partners.  \nConnected and automated driving is high on the agenda of the EU and national governments and a large number of European Member States and other countries around the world are running or planning to soon undertake large-scale testing of connected and automated driving functions on public roads. The CONCORDA project\, launched in October 2017 and funded from the Connecting Europe Facility\,  contributed to the preparation of European motorways for connected and automated driving and high density truck platooning\, by providing adequate connected services and technologies in terms of interferences and interoperability. \nThis helped in overcoming fragmentation and ensuring backwards interoperability between Cooperative-ITS services and the services harmonized by C-ROADS under real traffic situations. A consortium of 26 partners\, representing all relevant areas of the automotive and telecom ecosystem\, worked together in the past four years  towards achieving these objectives. The results of the project will be presented by the consortium partners  in the final action webinar ‘The future of the Connected Corridors Driving Automation’ on 31 May 2021. \nIf you are interested in joining the webinar register here.  \nFurther information on the agenda of the final action event can be found here. \nFor questions\, comments and feedback\, please contact: e.catana@mail.ertico.com.

SUMMARY:WE-TRANSFORM Stakeholder Workshop: The impact of automation on labour force.
DESCRIPTION:Do not miss the chance to participate in the debut discussion on the challenges and opportunities of automation impacts on the labour force. After an introduction by the European Commission (EC)\, the webinar presents the project activities’ objectives\, aiming to foster a platform on how the community can become more actively engaged in the long run.  \nThe EU-funded project WE-TRANSFORM seeks to engage the multi-stakeholder engagement to promote discussions to address the gaps in automation transitions since there is a call to design robust policy responses. The forum’s purpose is to collect additional input on the State-of-the-Art\, including the most innovative reports and scientific articles related to the impacts of automation and digitalisation for all modes of transport. By leveraging stakeholders’ knowledge and experiences\, with a co-creating action-oriented plan targeting EU and non-EU administrations\, the platform enables participants to take part in the best practices to understand better how they can be transferable to the WE-TRANSFORM focus.  \nFollowing EC’s introduction\, the webinar will host a panel discussion of experts to share findings\, experiences and best practices from the transport sector and other sectors\, including tourism\, finance\, and construction. The webinar will transform break-out group discussions around the challenges these sectors are currently facing regarding the workforce and the associated impacts of automation. \nIn this dialogue\, all actors and interested stakeholders are invited to attend\, including research\, industrial and social partners\, relevant networks\, associations\, employers’ and workers’ representatives across all transport modes and countries. \nMark your calendar and join the discussion!  \nMore detailed information on the agenda is coming soon\, and registration (participation is free of charge) will be circulated shortly (and will be posted here). Stay tuned and follow us for all updates. \nContact: Julie Castermans\, ERTICO – ITS Europe\, j.castermans@mail.ertico.com \n  \n[1] The Automation Readiness Index-The Economist Intelligence Unit Limited 2018

SUMMARY:Trust is a must\, how to deploy CCAM in a safe and trusted manner
DESCRIPTION:Safety is often addressed in CCAM R&I and piloting initiatives with the assumption that it is part of the process to build trust. Numerous large scale demonstrations and pilots are taking place with an objective to test and validate technical developments but are not necessarily addressing the mobility needs of citizens. Beyond raising user awareness\, additional steps are needed to achieve trust. To ensure that society embraces the innovative CCAM solutions that will be developed and deployed\,  these will have to reflect the needs and expectations of future users. \nBuilding on the outcomes of the EUCAD2021 conference\, panellists will discuss the EU ambitions\, lessons learned from EU-funded R&I and shuttle pilot activities\, the role of the CCAM Partnership and how trust can be nurtured from inception to use by involving citizens\, cities and future users in a co-creation process to support the deployment of inclusive\, shared\, human-centric mobility solutions. \nDr Stephane Dreher from ERTICO-ITS Europe will present the results of a meta-analysis of more than 60 Horizon 2020 funded projects on CCAM carried out by partners of the ARCADE support action coordinated by ERTICO with a focus on lessons learned and R&I priorities for trustworthiness and large scale testing. \nPlease use the discount code CCAM to attend this session.
