SUMMARY:MEDUSA final event on E-GNSS for freight transport\, road and ITS
DESCRIPTION:The Euromed GNSS II/MEDUSA project will launch its final event on E-GNSS for freight transport\, road and ITS in Amman on 21 October 2014. \nOrganized by MEDUSA\, under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport of Jordan\, the event has a Euromed regional target and it is focused on the use of GNSS/EGNOS for freight and road transport\, and particularly on the real experience conducted in the frame of MEDUSA by the Royal Jordanian Customs. Thanks to MEDUSA\, with the support of European companies involved in the project and with the aid of the Ministry of Transport of Jordan\, since April 2014\, the Royal Jordanian Customs are having the opportunity to test and validate the use of EGNOS for tracking and tracing containers shipped across the Mediterranean sea and vehicles transporting goods in Jordan. \nDuring the event\, the participants will have the occasion to share the lessons learnt from this Jordan’s “case study”\, to be informed about relevant best practices in Europe and in the Euromed region\, as well as to debate about strategies and possible ways forward\, in the light of national interests and common regional perspectives. \nEuromed and European stakeholders\, mainly from the satellite navigation sector and from the transport and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) communities\, will participate in the event. \nThe final agenda of the event can be found here \nThe participation in the event is free of charge. \n

SUMMARY:Mobility 2050
DESCRIPTION:Is your company or organization on the sidelines? Or is it moving forward? \n35 years ago\, the personal computer was invented. 27 years ago the mobile phone. Today\, we are overwhelmed with new technological developments. Some of these innovations will hold a significant role within our transport methods. Where we will be within 35 years (2050) is hard to predict. Which way we will evolve\, is slowly getting clear. \nVIM (Flanders Institute for Mobility) organizes the congress ‘Mobility 2050′\, on October 23 in Brussels. Be part of a debate with Magda Kopczynska from the European Commission and with Ben Weyts\, Flanders’ Minister for Mobility and Public Works. Get inspired by (inter)national key speakers from the United Kingdom\, Denmark\, the Netherlands and Belgium. Experience the newest innovations. But above all: look forward and join us towards 2050. \nFor more information\, click here

SUMMARY:eCall #3 TESTFEST event
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd eCall TESTFEST event\, organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe and ETSI\, will be held from 27 to 31 October 2014 in Vigo\, Spain. This event will be hosted by CTAG in cooperation with CETECOM. \nAt the eCall TESTFEST event last year\, more than 30 vendors benefited from more than 300 test sessions to check the interoperability of their IVS or PSAP devices. With eCall now coming closer to the market\, verifying the eCall chain and in particular the compliancy to eCall standard requirements through different means of test is critical. This third eCall TESTFEST event is a unique opportunity to check your eCall implementation confidently against other devices and eCall standards requirements. \nThe eCall TESTFEST event enables vendors to run interoperability test sessions using test descriptions provided in approved guidlines. The event will bring more value with the debriefing sessions where experts can answer technical questions or solve interoperability issues. Additionally\, compliancy and performance checking sessions will be schedulded to complement the interoperability tests. \nPlease register here \n

SUMMARY:Mobility Convention 2014
DESCRIPTION:Transportation of tomorrow – Enabling smarter intermodality\nIntermodality is the key to sustainable passenger mobility\, and improving the interfaces is a major challenge in taking mobility to the next level. As new technologies develop and customer behavior changes\, fundamental questions have to be asked again: Which are the mobility needs of people in the future? How will they travel? What kind of concepts and new challenges lie ahead? Which role will intermodality play? \nThe social perspective of mobility will also be addressed at the Convention. Furthermore\, to reflect the global nature of mobility\, experiences and perspectives from other regions will be shared to complement the European view. \nThe Mobility Convention 2014 will bring together top-level experts representing industry\, research\, and the users to discuss smarter intermodality\, to share the latest developments\, insights\, and challenges. \nThe Convention will give a unique overview of recent and future trends\, and also strengthen links between the different stakeholders. This will give rise to new research topics\, novel strategic and operational options\, and innovative technological solutions. \nFor more information and to download the programme\, visit the website. \n
