SUMMARY:UL's Interoperable Account-Based Travelling Workshop
DESCRIPTION:London\, United Kingdom \nAccount-based travelling combines two important concepts and creates a compelling offer to the mobility needs of citizens in the 21st century: \nThe use of various token based ticketing implementationsIntegrated with journey planning\, real time passenger information and in-journey information \nThe real challenge is to implement account-based travelling across the regional or national borders and across different types (mobility and other) of schemes. \nDuring this workshop UL will present its vision on next generation ticketing. Together with our strategic partner Open Ticketing Institute we will share and discuss with you the concepts we are developing in the ETC partnership. Topics discussed are governance\, privacy\, partnerships\, technologies\, transaction security\, interfaces and use cases. During two interactive national group discussions we will identify with you how such concepts can be implemented in your local\, regional or national context. At the end of the workshop you will have awareness about what account-based travelling could mean for you. \nFor more information\, click here

SUMMARY:Opening Symposium Automotive Week
DESCRIPTION:Are you dealing with smart mobility developments as a professional\, employer or road user? Then Connecting Mobility and DITCM Innovations would like to invite you to the opening symposium on Wednesday\, March 25th\, 2015. In the Netherlands we invested these last years in pilots and innovations in smart mobility. In cooperation with government\, market parties and knowledge institutes we paved the way for the future of mobility\, in which we can use a broad spectrum of developments\, knowledge and experience. We want to make a step forward: from research and testing\, now to start doing! And we are going to involve the roaduser even more. \nIn the symposium\, held in Helmond (The Netherlands)\, three speakers (Justus Verkerk\, FCCE\, Marianne Dwarshuis\, ANWB and Vincent Everts) will inspire the participants to think different. And together with the moderator\, Maarten Bouwhuis (Business News Radio BNR) we would like to seduce them considering new roads en make a next step with innovations. We want to raise the point of the dynamics that smart mobility developments bring about: working together\, co-creation\, crowdsourcing. In short\, bundeling skills and know-how to keep innovating. And share experiences in order to claim a position as frontrunner in smart mobility for The Netherlands. Our ambition is that participants are challenged to be frontrunners themselves. \nRead more here

SUMMARY:Improving Cycling Safety using ITS
DESCRIPTION:The VRUITS project\, which is sponsored by the European Commission (DG MOVE)\, aims at providing recommendations regarding ITS applications for the improvement of the safety and mobility for Vulnerable Road Users. VRUITS assesses the societal impact of selected ITS applications and demonstrates the use of innovative ITS applications for VRUs. \nIn Helmond\, the VRUITS project will demonstrate how vehicles and cyclists can communicate with each other. For example\, vehicle drivers can receive warnings of possible collisions with cyclists and the vehicle brakes automatically to avoid the collision or cyclists are personally warned for collisions. \nIn the seminar the VRUITS partners will discuss how ITS can be used to improve cycling safety. The use of Cooperative ITS for cyclists will receive specific stress. At the end of the seminar\, participants will be able to visit the VRUITS Helmond test site. \nSeminar Programme \n09:00 Participants Arrival and Registration \n09:30 Keynote speech (Rob Methorst\, Rijkswaterstaat) \n09:50 VRUITS project and assessment results (Johan Scholliers\, VTT) \n10:10 Improving safety of elderly cyclists (Stefanie de Hair\, TNO) \n10:30 Coffee break \n11:00 Helmond and C-ITS (Daniel de Klein\, City of Helmond) \n11:20 Mobility data of cyclists (NN\, TNO) \n11:40 Industrial perspective for C-ITS (Kees Moerman\, NXP) \n12:00 The Helmond VRUITS demonstration (Esra van Dam\, TNO) \n12:20 Lunch and transportation to the demonstration site \n13:30 Visit to the demonstration site \n14:30 Seminar closure \nFor more information and to register\, click here
