DESCRIPTION:Location: Gothenburg\, Sweden \nThe 3rd International Symposium on Future Active Safety Technology Towards zero traffic accidents will be held on September 9-11\, 2015\, in Gothenburg\, Sweden. After two successful events in Japan\, FAST-zero’11 in Tokyo\, and FAST-zero’13 in Nagoya\, the symposium will be held outside Japan for the first time. Sweden is a natural choice for a FAST-zero symposium since the Swedish parliament was the first to announce a Vision Zero policy. The main idea is simple: No loss of life in traffic is acceptable. But the approach is innovative; since humans make mistakes\, instead of making the driver responsible\, vehicles and traffic system solutions must be designed so that accidents are avoided. Focus is on active safety systems\, driver characteristics and human factors\, and autonomous and automatic driving vehicle. SUMMARY:BigDataEurope Workshop at Bordeaux ITS World Congress
DESCRIPTION:The workshop focuses on Big Data in the H2020 Societal Challenge Smart\, green and integrated transport. Participants to this workshop will have the opportunity to influence the design\, and ultimate benefit from the Big Data platform that the BigDataEurope project will deliver. DESCRIPTION:  \nThe 6th  iMobility Forum Plenary Meeting will be held on Wednesday\, 21 October at the Diamant Conference Centre\, Brussels under the theme ‘Automation: Impact for Vehicles\, Infrastructure and Users‘. \nAbout the Topic \nThe iMobility Forum is working towards safe\, smart and clean road mobility via the large-scale deployment of intelligent vehicle and infrastructure systems in Europe in the context of the Digital Agenda for Europe\, EU ITS Action Plan and ITS Directive. The biannual iMobility Forum Plenary Meeting is the opportunity for all stakeholders involved in intelligent mobility to get together\, and learn about and discuss the progress and achievements of the iMobility Forum. \nEmerging vehicle solutions have the potential to transform travel experiences for end-users on the one hand and freight transportation on the other hand. The role of transport data and the trend towards automation will be discussed from diverse perspectives (i.e. users\, suppliers\, OEMs\, transport/freight operators\, authorities). Connectivity and automation\, is one of the core topics in order to maximise benefits for the transport system. The road to fully-automated cars\, however\, is likely to be long and beset with concerns about legislation\, data sharing\, HMI\, safety\, and liability.
