SUMMARY:ITS within the programme 2014-2020
DESCRIPTION:Following the definition and approval of the 2014-2020 Structural Funds programming\, TTS Italia is organizing for 3 and 4 December 2014\, in Rome\, the conference “ITS within the programme 2014-2020”The goal of the event is to involve regions\, municipalities and metropolitan areas to understand how much and how ITS will be present in their activities for the next six years\, how much and how ITS can bring benefits in the country. In addition to local authorities\, the institutions will be present to learn about the actions planned for the ITS sector in the short to medium term with the Structural Funds and to understand how to take advantage of them to make a real innovation. The conference will be structured in a part of the congress and exhibition area reserved to Members of TTS Italia\, to present their innovative solutions to the world’s demand.More information can be found here

SUMMARY:EDITS Final Conference: “Seamless travel planning in Central Europe”
DESCRIPTION:Where: Techgate\, Vienna \nMultimodal traveller information services need to cross borders – especially when travelling abroad: Therefore interoperable\, multimodal traveller information services should not stop at national\, regional or even the organisational borders of the respective service providers. But this reality looks differently today. \nStarting in 2012 the European project EDITS (implemented through the Central Europe Programme) tackled this problem by creating a system that allows for transnational and trans-organisational cooperation. 13 partners from five European neighbouring countries in Central Europe committed themselves to exchange transport-related data covering public transport as well as road transport with the aim of providing accurate and seamless services to travellers. Based on a harmonised system architecture and common specifications for the cross-border data exchange the EDITS service has been implemented and tested within three main demonstration areas\, including the CENTROPE region (Austria\, Slovakia\, Czech Republic and Hungary)\, the triangle area covering Austria-Italy-Slovenia\, as well as the Italian bordering provinces of Modena and Ferrara. \nYou are kindl invited to the EDITS conference taking place on the 3rd of December 2014 in Vienna to find out about the EDITS concept and to try out “live” the developed solutions (approx. 10 different web- or app-based EDITS-related traveller information services). \nTo download the event’s agenda click here \nTo register click here

SUMMARY:Webinar: Global snapshot project: Recent findings
DESCRIPTION:Recent findings from the Global Snapshot Project \nThe World Health Organization estimates that outdoor air pollution was responsible for 3.7 million annual premature deaths in 2012. Exposure to vehicle emissions or other mobile sources is a major contributor to this global disease burden\, but we know little about how much is attributable to these emission sources.  \nThis presentation will review major research needs and opportunities that can inform a research agenda in this area. Future work will require interdisciplinary coordination\, but such work is needed to guide the actions of national and international decision makers working to address one of the major risks to global public health. \nPresenters \nRay J. SUMMARY:eVADER Final Project Event
DESCRIPTION:Studies suggest that vehicles driven in electric mode are extremely quiet and represent a safety hazard for pedestrians and cyclists in traffic. The eVADER project defines solutions to warn vulnerable users of a nearby moving vehicle while providing means for heightening the awareness of drivers in critical situations. \nAfter three years of research and development\, eVADER is proud to present its Final Public Workshop where end users will have an opportunity to assess the acoustic performance of a prototype based on a NISSAN Leaf vehicle integrating the eVADER technology. \nThe Workshop will be held on 11th and 12th December 2014. On the first day of the event\, the activities will be carried out in Applus+ IDIADA in Santa Oliva\, Spain. This will include project presentations and demonstrations of the prototype vehicle in IDIADA’s facilities and proving ground. On the second day\, the event will continue in Barcelona city where the attendants will have the opportunity to assess the prototype acoustic performance in a realistic environment. \nTo check the event’s agenda\, click here \nTo register for the workshop\, send an email to evader@idiada.com before 15th November. \n  \n

SUMMARY:FABRIC Workshop On Standardisation
DESCRIPTION:The FABRIC project (Feasibility analysis and development of on-road charging solutions for future electric vehicles) is organising a workshop entitled: “Wireless Charging: Related Standards and needs” in the framework of the IEEE-International Electric Vehicle Conference 2014. \nThe goal of this workshop is to bring together leading experts from industry\, policy makers\, automotive manufacturers and relevant standardization bodies to discuss the latest developments in the field of inductive charging for electric vehicles focusing on standardization issues. The workshop aims not only to review the current status of any relevant standardisation effort but to highlight the steps needed for any related action and possibly assist in prioritizing them by reaching a consensus at the end of the workshop among participants. \nThe workshop will open with some keynotes from international associations and key experts; then a general overview of the related technology will follow with emphasis on current standardardization needs while key experts will provide a general overview of wireless charging Standardizations activities. An after-workshop roundtable dialogue will be stimulated\, in which all participants will expose their opinion and debate. Discussions of the workshop can focus on Standardization activities needed for the following topics indicatively:Health impactAllowable frequenciesPower levelsCoil alignment (dynamic)Package and distances (geometry)Communication protocolsEnvironmental impactCost impact of system design decisions \nhttp://sites.ieee.org/ievc2014/registration/ http://www.fabric-project.eu/

SUMMARY:Europe Meets IEVC Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In the framework of the IEEE-International Electric Vehicle Conference 2014 that will be held in Florence on 19 December 2014 FABRIC is organising a Workshop entitled: “Europe meets IEVC”. \nIn the recent years electromobility has been receiving increasing support from governments and large vehicle manufacturers and OEMs in the form of large funding schemes for research and development and the introduction to the market of fully electric vehicles respectively\, in an effort to shift globally towards a cleaner and more sustainable form of transport. The basic scope of this Workshop is to create a forum where key stakeholders will have the opportunity to present state of the art developments in EC funded and national projects towards a wide deployment of electromobility in Europe\, identify trends and roadblocks and possibly draft a roadmap towards the large scale implementation of electromobility. \nhttp://sites.ieee.org/ievc2014 http://www.fabric-project.eu/
