SUMMARY:C-ITS Deployment is underway! Part III Third public workshop of the Amsterdam Group and CODECS
DESCRIPTION:C-ITS deployment is underway and initially progressed in corridor projects and pilots all over Europe. The Amsterdam Group and the CODECS partners aim on harmonising the ongoing activities in these various deployment hot spots. They have jointly set up a series of public workshops to discuss their work with other stakeholders and interested organisations. After the „C-ITS Deployment is underway!“ workshops in September 2015 in Roskilde in Denmark and in April 2016 in Amsterdam\, this third edition features the C-ITS Strategy of the European Commission and reports about the state of play in the C-ITS Platform. It also focuses on the newly established CEF supported projects C-Roads and Intercor and provides ongoing corridor initiatives and pilots with a platform to report their progress in making cooperative road traffic a reality. They will give a status update with regard to lessons-learned\, identified deployment challenges as wel

SUMMARY:i-Transport and UATP Conference and Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Hosted every second year since 2001 by the Intelligent Transport Society of South Africa\, the i-Transport Conference and Exhibition has become an established and well-supported event on the transport calendar as a platform for knowledge sharing to promote the sustainable deployment of ITS projects. \ni-Transport 2017 will be co-hosted by ITS South Africa\, the African Chapter of the International Public Transport Association (UATP) and ITS Africa on 14-17 February 2017 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg\, South Africa. This paves the way for significantly greater continent-wide and international participation. \nThe theme “Go Green – Go Smart” reflects the need to improve transport efficiencies\, to reduce the carbon footprint of the transport sector and to encourage modal shifts. The theme specifically reflects the strong synergy between Public Transport and Intelligent Transport Systems. \nFind out more at: http://www.i-transportafrica.com/

SUMMARY:SPICE: Delivering Transport Projects through Cooperation: the Alliance Model
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 23 February 2017 at 14:00 – 15:00 CET\, the Smart Procurement for Better Transport project will be hosting a webinar entitled “Delivering Transport Projects through Cooperation: the Alliance Model”. \nObjectives \n\nTo introduce the Alliance Model as an effective contract model for delivering transport projects\nTo discuss the benefits of the Alliance model in comparison to traditional frameworks in innovative transport projects and how to adopt this model for other types of transport project\n\nWho should attend \n\nPublic procurers such as national\, regional and city administrators\, road operators;\nTransport engineers and system suppliers;\nUniversities and researchers\n\nDescription\nTampere is a growing city driven by innovation and high-tech industry. Tampere’s innovation has also been applied to the contract of a major transport project in the city. The Rantatunneli tunnel in Tampere is under construction using the ‘Alliance Model’ of public procurement. This means the traditional customer-service provider model has been eliminated\, allowing involved parties to cooperate in the planning and implementing of the project. The alliance members are the City of Tampere\, the Finnish Transport Agency\, Lemminkäinen\, A-Insinöörit\, and Saanio & Riekkola. As a result of this cooperation\, the alliance members have been able to reduce disruptions caused by the worksite while cutting costs and speeding up processes. This webinar invites Mr Mauri Mäkiaho\, Deputy Director of the Rantatunneli project in Tampere\, to present the Alliance Model in public procurement\, in order to inspire public procurers to use the model for implementing other transport projects. \nSpeakers \n\nDr. Bahar Namaki Araghi\, City of Copenhagen\n\nWhat can other cities learn from Tampere’s experience\n\n\nMauri Mäkiaho Finnish Transport Agency\, Project Manager\n\nApproaches to innovation procurement\n\n\n\nOrganisers \nThis webinar is organised by the SPICE project. SPICE is a Horizon 2020 supported Coordination and Support Action (CSA) project with a focus on sharing knowledge and experiences on innovation procurement in the transport sector. \nTo register\, please click here. \nContact\nFor any questions\, please contact Yanying Li at y.li@mail.ertico.com  \n
