SUMMARY:The UDRIVE Final Event - The UDRIVE Experience
DESCRIPTION:June 2017 is the final month for EU Project UDRIVE –  the first large-scale European Naturalistic Driving Study on cars\, trucks and powered-two wheelers. The UDRIVE Experience on June 7th is an interactive event to let you experience hands-on what UDRIVE has to offer now that it will come to an end. \n\nWhat data is collected?\nWhat are the main results and what are their implications?\nWhat can you do with UDRIVE results?\nWhat questions can UDRIVE potentially answer?\nWhat do different stakeholders need?\n\nThis event entices you to dive in and find out how the UDRIVE data and results can be of use to you. \n \nWhat to expect?\nMorning: Interactive introduction to UDRIVE\nWhat is there to know about UDRIVE? Let us show you\, ask you and tell you! \nAfternoon: UDRIVE Experience à la carte\nSelect the most relevant workshops and discover what UDRIVE has to offer. These rotating workshops will be tailored to the needs of different types of stakeholders\, such as policy makers\, industry and researchers. \nNetworking\nFollowing the UDRIVE Experience\, you are provided with an additional networking opportunity: the Dutch Pancake Experience.  Not only will you be served unlimited Dutch pancakes while overlooking the sea\, you also get the chance to further discuss al that is naturalistic with attendees of the UDRIVE Experience ánd researchers attending the 6th Naturalistic Driving Research Symposium (NDRS2017) that will be held June 8 & 9. \nCan’t get enough of naturalistic driving research? You are most welcome to stick around for another two days to attend NDRS2017!

SUMMARY:SPICE Webinar: Intelligent Street Light Procurement
DESCRIPTION:Webinar Invitation \n“Intelligent Street Light Procurement: the story from Copenhagen” \n14:30 – 15:30 CET\nThursday 8 June 2017 \nObjectives\n\nTo share good practice of using innovation procurement procedure (e.g. Competitive Dialogue) to procure Intelligent street lights in Copenhagen;\nTo discuss the benefits and lessons learnt of using innovation procurement for delivering sustainable projects.\n\nWho should attend\n\nPublic procurers such as national\, regional and city administrators\, road operators;\nTransport engineers and system suppliers;\nUniversities and researchers\n\nDescription\nCity of Copenhagen has the ambition to be the first carbon-neutral capital city in the world. To reach this ambitious goal\, the city council has adopted a comprehensive and targeted carbon reduction plan. The intelligent street lighting project is a part of the carbon reduction plan to make street lights in Copenhagen more energy efficient\, aiming at reducing the energy consumption by 50%. The project can be considered as a complex infrastructure investment. This is due to the fact that the city had a plan for renewing a part of the lighting system across city to help reaching the goals for optimising the energy consumption and infrastructure renovation. Moreover\, the LED world is a fast developing technology and how to ensure what you buy is not quickly out of market. \nThe tender process of the project used innovation procurement procedures in order to ensure appropriate products and system being purchased and a long term success of the project. A 250 million Danish Krone (about 33 million euro) contract was awarded for installing the new street lighting system in the city and 12 year maintenance. Louise Rathleff\, the program manager and Stine Ellermann\, the contract manager\, will give detailed description of the procurement of the intelligent street lighting and share their knowledge and lessons learnt from the procurement. \nModerator (invited)\n\nAnja De Cunto\, EUROCITIES\n\nSpeakers\n\nLouse Rathleff\, Program manager\, City of Copenhagen\nStine Ellermann\, Contract manager\, City of Copenhagen\n\n\n\n\nOrganisers \nThis webinar is organised by the SPICE project (www.spice-project.eu). SPICE is a Horizon 2020 supported Coordination and Support Action (CSA) project with a focus on sharing knowledge and experiences on innovation procurement in the transport sector. \nThis webinar is organised in cooperation with EUROCITIES (www.eurocities.eu) and the EIP-SCC initiative (https://eu-smartcities.eu/about). \nContact\nFor any questions\, please contact Yanying Li at y.li@mail.ertico.com

SUMMARY:BigDataEurope Hangout: Empowering Mobility Management with Big Data
DESCRIPTION:On June 14\, BigDataEurope’s Smart\, Green\, and Integrated Transport Societal Challenge (SC4) will hold its first hangout for 2017! \nThe launch of BigDataEurope’s open-source Integrator Platform in early May was the culmination of over two years’ development and testing. \nThe Big Data Europe Integrator Platform (BDI) allows a unified view of heterogeneous data for more efficient processing\, analysis and integration without having to worry about native installations of a variety of tools for data processing at scale. BDI has exciting implications for application in the transport and mobility sector. \nIn a webinar entitled ‘Empowering Mobility Management with Big Data’ we will demonstrate the value of the Platform in the domain of Smart\, Green\, and Integrated Transport by showcasing the progress during the last few months of BigDataEurope’s Thessaloniki-based SC4 pilot. The webinar will combine a presentation of algorithms and a live demo of the pilot to provide a status update of the latest developments. \nAgenda: Empowering Mobility Management with Big Data \n\nSimon Scerri – Fraunhofer IAIS (10 mins)\n\nIntroduction to the BigDataEurope project and an overview of the Big Data Integrator Platform \n\nJosep Maria Salanova – CERTH (15 mins)\n\nThe mobility use case in Thessaloniki \n\nLuigi Selmi – Fraunhofer IAIS (20 mins)\n\nTechnologies and applications – Live Demo of Pilot \n\nConclusions and Q&A (15 mins)\n\nWe look forward to your participation! \n\nWHAT: Webinar: Empowering Mobility Management with Big Data\nWHEN: June 14\, 11.30 am – 12.30 pm\nWHO: Luigi Selmi (Fraunhofer IAIS)\, Simon Scerri (Fraunhofer IAIS)\, Josep Maria Salanova (CERTH)\nHOW: Register here\nWHY: Find out about BigDataEurope’s Integrator Platform with a status update of the Transport Challenge’s pilot work on streaming sensor network and geospatial data integration using the BDI. See a live demo of our latest work at the pilot site in Thessaloniki.\n\nSign up to the BigDataEurope newsletter to find out more on how you can get involved. \nRegister for the webinar.

SUMMARY:Driving Automation: AdaptIVe Final Event
DESCRIPTION:European research project AdaptIVe will be holding its Final Event in Aachen\, Germany\, on June 28 and 29\, 2017.  \nThe event will provide guests with first-hand experience of automated driving on motorways\, in urban scenarios and in a multi level parking garage. Nine AdaptIVe demonstrators\, including passenger cars of various classes and one truck\, have been developed and tested for three and a half years. Now\, the AdaptIVe partners will showcase automated driving functions on public roads and in a simulated urban environment. \nThe AdaptIVe functions will also be the focus of presentations during a dedicated conference. The conference will answer questions regarding legal aspects related to automated driving\, how a smooth human-machine interaction is designed\, and how automated driving and the systems are evaluated. \nAn exhibition will showcase key results and feature break-out sessions\, enabling a closer dialogue with the presenting partners\, and providing network opportunities with high-level representatives and experts from policy\, industry and research. \nClick here to register. The event is free of charge. \nFor the Draft Agenda\, please click here. \nDetails for preparation including the agenda\, directions and recommendations for accommodation\, are available online here. \n
