SUMMARY:Registration deadline for event on IoT services for automated vehicles
DESCRIPTION:The Internet of Things (IoT) is still a new and captivating concept\, with all the different kinds of sensors and the bountiful amounts of data. However\, when it comes to automated driving\, can IoT bring an added advantage and have a valid business case? The AUTOPILOT project aims to prove that IoT can advance automated driving in great big strides. We are convinced of the potential of IoT\, but we would appreciate an opportunity to debate with you. Join us this June in Tampere! \nIn Tampere\, we will show you AUTOPILOT’s automated valet parking functionalities in hands-on demonstrations and later ask you about your impressions. We will host a workshop to talk about the business cases\, as well as the opportunities and challenges that AUTOPILOT could face in coming to the market. You will be able to learn about the Internet of Things\, new potential business cases\, and share your views with us. \nRegardless of whether you are already convinced of the potential of IoT or need some persuading\, let’s together make Tampere the place to be this summer for riveting discussions on the future of automated driving! We would\, in particular\, value participation from local stakeholders\, including city authorities\, public transport providers\, and SMEs. \nClick here for contact information and the agenda. \nClick here to register.

SUMMARY:2nd Symposium on Management of Future motorway and urban Traffic Systems
DESCRIPTION:The Symposium will focus on future traffic management systems\, covering the subjects of traffic control\, estimation\, and modelling of motorway and urban networks\, with particular emphasis on the presence of advanced vehicle communication and automation technologies. As connectivity and automation are being progressively introduced in our transport and mobility systems\, there is indeed a growing need to understand the implications and opportunities for an enhanced traffic management as well as to identify innovative ways and tools to optimise traffic efficiency. In particular the debate on centralized versus decentralized traffic management in the presence of connected and automated vehicles has started attracting the attention of the research community. In this context\, the Symposium will provide a remarkable opportunity to share novel ideas and discuss future research directions. \nMore information is available on the official website.

SUMMARY:Workshop on electric vehicle systems\, data and applications
DESCRIPTION:The NeMo and ELECTRIFIC (electrific.eu) projects are pleased to announce our “EV-Sys” one-day workshop taking place on Tuesday 12 June at the FZI Research Centre for Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. \n  \nThis workshop is part of the ninth ACM International Conference on Future Energy Systems (ACM e-Energy https://conferences.sigcomm.org/eenergy/2018)\, which runs from 12 to 15 June in Karlsruhe and aims to be the premier venue for researchers working in the broad areas of smart energy systems\, smart grids\, and energy-efficient computing and communication systems. \nEV-Sys – the 3rd Workshop on Electric Vehicle Systems\, Data\, and Applications – is a full-day workshop from 09:00 to 18:00 that will examine the latest development of areas that are expected to play a major role in enhancing Electric Vehicle (EV) performance. Its main focus is on methodological concepts through the improvement of the battery management system (BMS)\, the extensive use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to increase energy efficiency and thus the range of the vehicle\, the revision of the electric and electronic architecture to reduce complexity and the number of components and interconnections\, whilst improving energy efficiency\, functionality and modularity and the development of tools and networks to enable the interoperable charging and services provision to owners of EVs. \nIt will present European advances in the area of electromobility from the NeMo and ELECTRIFIC projects\, and will include a panel discussion as well as externally submitted papers that have been peer reviewed by a programme committee and poster sessions. \nMore information and registration available here.

SUMMARY:Five years of TN-ITS
DESCRIPTION:The TN-ITS platform is turning five and we would like to celebrate reaching this milestone with you! \nSince 2013\, TN-ITS has worked to bring fresher map data to intelligent transport services\, with the aim of facilitating and fostering the exchange of ITS-related spatial road data between road authorities (trusted data providers)\, data users (map makers) and other parties. \nTN-ITS also supports the deployment of projects that implement the TN-ITS specifications for static data\, such as EU-EIP’s sub activity 4.7 and the ongoing project TN-ITS GO. \nCollaboration with other field-related projects is vital for innovation and development in this area\, so join us at our Network Event to learn more about the TN-ITS map update exchange and our active community. The event will take place in Brussels on Wednesday 27 June 2018 from 18:30-20:30. \nWhere: Brussels (final venue to be confirmed) \nWhen: Wednesday\, 27 June 2018 \nTime: 18:30-20:30 \nAgenda: \n\nIntroduction to TN-ITS      (h18:30 – 19:15)\nQ&A session                   (h19:15 – 19:30)\nNetworking reception       (h19:30 – 20:30)\n\nTo join the celebration and learn more about TN-ITS\, please register here. \nFor more information\, please contact: c.canonico@mail.ertico.com \n  \n
