SUMMARY:SOLUTIONSplus Global Learning Programme
DESCRIPTION:This course programme enables organisations from the public sector to learn about the concept and practical implications of e-mobility. Learners will be introduced to the overall topic\, given examples of electric vehicle types and get introduced to case studies on how to implement e-mobility in an urban mobility concept. \nThe first course of the SOLUTIONSplus global learning programme on electric mobility aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to electric mobility planning and implementation in local contexts. The course is primarily designed for city and regional authorities\, but can provide a solid knowledge base for any stakeholder involved or interested in electric mobility. \nIn addition to lectures and material for self-study\, a kick-off webinar gives key information and guidance about the learning programme and the SOLUTIONSplus project. Virtual exchange sessions are scheduled to accompany the course enabling interactive discussions with and among participants. \nFor the full structure of the first course\, visit the SOLUTIONSplus website.

SUMMARY:ERTICO City Moonshot: Facilitating MaaS with Cities
DESCRIPTION:ERTICO City Moonshot initiative is having its first engagement activity of 2021\, jointly with the MaaS Alliance. \nThe initiative\, which is a global series of interviews with 300 cities worldwide with a goal of understanding their needs and requirements when it comes to transport and mobility\, is talking to cities in a series of interviews addressing topics of Sustainability\, Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Data Sharing. \nSince the beginning of the City Moonshot\, a large number of cities have been interviewed\, among them Montevideo\, Brussels\, Glasgow\, Moscow\, Addis Ababa\, Doha\, Athens\, London and many other cities in the world. The results of the international survey will be published at the ITS World Congress in Hamburg in October 2021. \nDuring the event\, some of the insights on the status of MaaS considerations and deployments from ERTICO City Moonshot will be presented. Three cities interviewed though the initiative will provide an update on their MaaS status. The Secretary-General of the MaaS Alliance will present Alliance’s MaaS Market Playbook. \nThe event will be accessible only by invitation and it is free of charge. \nIf you are a public authority (city\, region\, municipality\, ministry etc.) and want to attend the event contact Lidia Buenavida at l.buenavidapena@mail.ertico.com for more information. \n

SUMMARY:Open Belgium 2021
DESCRIPTION:This year in March\, ERTICO is joining Open Belgium  an annual Open Knowledge and Open Data conference gathering industry\, research\, government and citizen stakeholders. The event will highlight the latest trends\, innovations and best practices. \nOn 15 March (11:00-11:45 CET)\, Stephen T’Siobbel and Lien Bakelants together with Geert Van Gaever will host a session on “Sharing open (road) data in Flanders: The TN-ITS WAY”\, and will explain how TN-ITS can support the implementation of Speed Assistance applications. \nMore background on this session: \nEurope is getting ready to deploy Speed Assistance as mandatory safety equipment in vehicles from 2022\, and road authorities can support these applications by providing access to (changes) of road attributes as speed limits & traffic signs\, as Open Data. \nTN-ITS will make sure that such data types become available and accessible in a harmonised way through its technical specification for the data exchange\, and by bringing government and industry stakeholders together. \nThe Flemish Government is playing a prominent role in this initiative\, as this session will testify during the Open Belgium event. \nRegistration are free of charge: https://lnkd.in/gcfJ-wF \n(Photo by Joshua Sortino on Unsplash)

SUMMARY:Digitalisation of road transport in Europe
DESCRIPTION:Throughout the course of its own studies\, the European ITS Platform (Evaluation Group)\, in conjunction with ITS Corridors and experts in the field\, have developed a suite of tools and guidance designed to nurture a harmonised approach to the Evaluation of ITS. The ITS Corridors have in-turn adopted this approach\, which has helped to make the benefits of ITS investments across Europe more consistent\, more comparable and more visible. \nInitial Corridor results based on this commonly adopted approach are now presented in a single source – the Digitalisation of Road Transport in Europe book – which contains an overview of the overall impacts and benefits of co-funded ITS investment.  ITS systems and services increase the performance of hard infrastructures\, such as roads. They can do so for all policy goals: safety\, mobility\, the environment and climate change. At the same time they provide the data and services for the digitalization of the Core Network Corridors\, the comprehensive TEN-T and other networks including urban\, building the Single European Transport Area and integrating with the society-wide digitalization. \nThe evaluation of the ITS Corridor projects of the CEF programme\, already covering almost all of the CNCs\, shows that the specific systems implemented are effective and have a good ROI. Being just a limited subset of what is\, or has been implemented nationally\, the absolute figures presented in the book therefore may be significantly higher for all of Europe. In future programmes\, with higher levels of harmonisation and integration and an ever-increasing level of digitalisation the contribution to European and national policy goals will be substantial. \nDr Johanna Tzanidaki\, Director of Innovation & Deployment at ERTICO – ITS Europe will talk about future priorities for traffic management and safety in Europe. \nRegister for this webinar here.

SUMMARY:MaaS Market Playbook Q&A
DESCRIPTION:As a result of the work done by MaaS Alliance and their members from public and private sectors and from various areas of the MaaS ecosystem\, MaaS Alliance is proud to launch the MaaS Market Playbook. By facilitating open and trusted knowledge sharing within the sector\, we have collected some insights and ideas for developing user-centric\, societally sound MaaS services. \nIn this Playbook\, we share some of our ideas for supporting: \n• Public-private partnerships in the MaaS ecosystem\n• Setting up local Codes of Conduct for governing MaaS\n• Achieving public policy goals\n• Developing and growing the industry\n• Building a common commitment \nTo present in-depth this publication\, MaaS Alliance is organising an open interactive webinar where participants are invited to engage and ask questions about the Playbook. \nDOWNLOAD THE MAAS MARKET PLAYBOOK \nREGISTER FOR THE WEBINAR
