SUMMARY:Managing Traffic Management Systems Assets and Resources
DESCRIPTION:As agencies reliance on traffic management systems (TMSs) to improve safety and mobility continues to grow\, agencies are exploring opportunities to improve the reliability\, performance and cost effectiveness of their TMS assets. The inventory and condition of TMS assets and resources are critical inputs to consideration\, prioritization\, and allocation of available resources (e.g.\, maintenance\, repairs\, improvements) and the real-time management and operation of these systems. This information on these assets are also critical inputs into the strategic planning\, program planning\, management\, and transition to the next generation of their agencies TMSs as they explore options to modify\, upgrade\, or replace TMSs or specific subsystems (software\, data\, telecom)\, components\, or field devices. \nThe purpose of this webinar is to provide participants with an appreciation of the practices\, available resources\, or key issues to consider in support of integrating the inventory and condition of assets and key resources into the planning\, management\, and operation of TMSs. Presentations will provide the context for TMS assets and resources\, asset inventory development and management\, asset monitoring and assessing\, and asset condition reporting. Presenters will frame each of these topics\, an initial list of issues to consider\, and resources available to assist with developing and maintaining an inventory\, monitoring and assessing\, or reporting on the condition of TMS assets. \nERTICO Innovation Platform TM2.0 is officially co-sponsoring this event\, hosted by the National Operations Centre of Excellence (NOCoE). Find out more. \nRegister for this free webinar.

SUMMARY:IEEE 5G Virtual Summit
DESCRIPTION:The European Commission and the University of Luxembourg are delighted to announce the IEEE 5G Virtual Summit for Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM)\, of which ERTICO and its led-project 5G-MOBIX are proud sponsors. \nWithin the European 5G vertical strategy\, Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) is considered as a flagship use case for 5G deployment along European transport paths\, in view of creating complete ecosystems around vehicles\, from road-safety or digital rail operations to high-value commercial services for road users and train passengers\, e.g. mobile office or infotainment. This event brings together a myriad of EU Funded project to share their first results and outline their pilots to create a deeper cooperation and collaboration among them to multiply the benefits of the investments of the European funding. Sharing best practices can lead to a harmonisation and interoprability of the platforms and applications preparing for an EU-wide integration of the exploitation. \nERTICO-coordinated EU project 5G-MOBIX is delighted to announce its participation with two of its cross-border corridors: Greek-Turkish and Spanish-Portuguese. \nClick here to view the agenda and click here to register.

SUMMARY:C-MobILE Final Event
DESCRIPTION:After 4 years the C-MobILE project comes to a conclusion with a final event which will look into the state of play and future perspectives of Cooperative Mobility Services for European Cities. \nThis online event is structured in two parts. The first part will focus on the final outcomes of C-MobILE: the real-life impact of C-ITS services deployed in eight cities / regions\, the public and private investments needed to implement and upscale such services\, and the market perspectives with focus on selected key exploitable results. \nThe second part will address the wider picture of the digital & green transformation and urban transition with a focus on ‘why\, how & what’ from the converging perspectives of Cooperative\, Connected & Automated Mobility\, interactive & predictive traffic management\, Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning\, Mobility as a Service / on Demand\, and the new ITS and EU urban mobility frameworks. \nTwo panel discussions will explore the implications of Cooperative Services for Urban Mobility and reveal the views of local authorities\, private industry\, end-users and the European policy makers. \nParticipation is free of charge\, but registration is required. Register here! \nDownload the draft Agenda

SUMMARY:TN-ITS Specifications for Road Data Exchange in Europe
DESCRIPTION:The TN-ITS platform\, coordinated by ERTICO\, was inaugurated in 2013 and brings together a number of road authorities and leading map & service providers to further develop the harmonised and automated exchange of (changes) of road data on European roads. The focus is clearly on ‘static’ road attributes\, which are vital elements of a reference geospatial base layer\, enabling reliable services as route planning\, navigation\, ADAS\, vehicle automation\, etc. This refers to changes of Speed Restrictions\, Traffic Signs\, Parking Information\, EV Charging Points\, etc. \nThe platform acts as the keeper of the TN-ITS Technical Specifications\, which were released by CEN in 2018 (CEN TS 17268) and describe the exchange data model\, the format and the interface. A dedicated working group on Specifications interacts with the TN-ITS service deployment projects (TN-ITS GO)\, other relevant standardisation platforms in Europe\, and the major stakeholders – including the European Commission. It is also responsible for maturing/extending the Technical Specifications and ensuring these specs are aligned with those in ‘related’ domains as traffic\, public transport\, EVs\, etc. \nThis webinar will provide a general introduction to the Technical Specifications. \nFirst\, the President of the TN-ITS\, Christian Kleine\, from HERE will give a concise overview of the platform. He will be followed by Stephen T’Siobbel\, the specifications working group leader representing ERTICO\, who will discuss the high level aspects of the TN-ITS specifications. \nA deeper dive will be provided by Knut Jetlund from the Norwegian Public Road Authorities\, a former member of the CEN project team that shaped the TS from earlier research results\, and a spatial data / standardisation expert. \nNext we have invited a (Linked) Open Data expert to elaborate upon the (technical) connection between TN-ITS and the Open Data world. We conclude with proposing a number of relevant upcoming actions and initiatives by our project manager Frank Daems from ERTICO. \nAdditional information about the webinar and regular updates can be found on LinkedIn on the TN-ITS page. \nREGISTER HERE \n

SUMMARY:CONCORDA Final Action Event
DESCRIPTION:The ‘CONCORDA Final Action Event’ will take place on 31 May 2021.Since October 2017 the CONCORDA (Connected Corridor for Driving Automation) project contributed to the preparation of European motorways for automated driving and high density truck platooning with adequate connected services and technologies. This wrap-up webinar will present the results of four years of work by the consortium partners.  \nConnected and automated driving is high on the agenda of the EU and national governments and a large number of European Member States and other countries around the world are running or planning to soon undertake large-scale testing of connected and automated driving functions on public roads. The CONCORDA project\, launched in October 2017 and funded from the Connecting Europe Facility\,  contributed to the preparation of European motorways for connected and automated driving and high density truck platooning\, by providing adequate connected services and technologies in terms of interferences and interoperability. \nThis helped in overcoming fragmentation and ensuring backwards interoperability between Cooperative-ITS services and the services harmonized by C-ROADS under real traffic situations. A consortium of 26 partners\, representing all relevant areas of the automotive and telecom ecosystem\, worked together in the past four years  towards achieving these objectives. The results of the project will be presented by the consortium partners  in the final action webinar ‘The future of the Connected Corridors Driving Automation’ on 31 May 2021. \nIf you are interested in joining the webinar register here.  \nFurther information on the agenda of the final action event can be found here. \nFor questions\, comments and feedback\, please contact: e.catana@mail.ertico.com.
