DESCRIPTION:ERTICO’s new project FAME (Framework for coordination of Automated Mobility in Europe) will hold a kick off meeting with the whole consortium and the Project Officer from the European Commission on 1-2 September. \nFunded by the Horizon Europe Programme\, FAME’s core activity entails the development of the European Framework for testing on public roads. The project will develop and validate common methodologies and tools to facilitate sharing best practices and lessons learned in CCAM. SUMMARY:SINFONICA kickoff meeting
DESCRIPTION:A new project under ERTICO’s Connected\, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM) focus area\, SINFONICA\, is kicking off next week on 7-8 September 2022 in Brussels. \nThe SINFONICA project will address inclusivity\, accessibility and equity aspects of Cooperative\, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) solutions. The needs and concerns of vulnerable user groups\, including the elderly and people with disabilities\, are at the project’s core to develop innovative and efficient methodologies to boost the deployment of CCAM solutions. To set the project’s tools and recommendations\, different activities\, including needs assessment and co-creation of solutions\, will be carried out within four specific Groups of Interest from different stakeholder categories\, covering different types of cities and regions: Trikala (Greece)\, Noord-Brabant Provincie (the Netherlands)\, West Midlands (United Kingdom)\, and Hamburg (Germany). The project results will lead to the creation of the SINFONICA Knowledge Map Explorer\, a user-friendly navigation system that will provide recommendations and guidelines on CCAM to different target groups\, including public administrations\, road users\, and service providers. \nStay tuned for more information on this new project focusing on inclusivity\, accessibility and equity aspects of CCAM solutions.

DESCRIPTION:Every two years\, EPA organises an international congress with more than 500 delegates from 32 countries that deals with parking as an essential component of the urban mobility system and as an essential service in European cities. It discusses the perspectives and challenges of stationary traffic in connection with traffic development in the cities of Europe. The 20th EPA Congress\, taking place from 12 – 14 September under the theme ‘The EU Green Deal and the Future of Parking – Integrated solutions for Dynamic Urban Management’ will be one of the most complete and multidisciplinary events involving operators in the parking industry\, national and local public administrations\, representatives of European Commissions and Projects\, experts in the field of mobility\, urban logistics\, electrical mobility\, the data world\, ITS\, Apps and much more. \nDuring the two-day scientific programme\, renowned scientific experts\, politicians and the industry will give presentations on the latest developments in all matters related to parking. On the first day\, Monday\, 12 September\, the Congress will host three plenary presentations. Following a keynote by Isabelle Vandoorne\, Deputy Head of Unit at the Research and Innovation and Urban Mobility\, DG Move\, at the European Commission during the first opening plenary session\, Joost Vantomme\, ERTICO CEO\, has been invited to deliver a keynote on the topic ‘Towards the Mobility Space 3.0\, the Role of Parking\, ERTICO Connects the dots’. This first plenary session\, taking place from 14:00 – 15:00 (CET)\, has also invited influential speakers from the European Parking industry: Laurence A. Bannerman\, President of the European Parking Association (EPA)\, Roland Cracco\, President of the Belgian Parking Federation (BPF)\, Rudi Vervoort\, Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region\, and Dr. Giuliano Mingardo\, PhD\, Deputy Director at the Erasmus Centre for Urban and Transport Economics. \nOn Tuesday\, 13 September\, the day gets off to a roaring start with the EPA Awards ceremony. This year’s competition received 41 entries from 12 countries\, showcasing the best in the sector. The awards ceremony will be a fascinating show as the 18 finalists in the five categories are presented\, and the winners of the 2021/2022 EPA Awards are finally announced. During this second day\, Roelof Hellemans\, Secretary-General at the MaaS Alliance\, will present the role of MaaS and connect parking with the proposition within MaaS in the first session on Smart Parking – Smart Mobility: Interoperability\, Implementing Standardisation and Digitalisation. SUMMARY:SUNRISE kick-off meeting
DESCRIPTION:The new SUNRISE – Safety assUraNce fRamework for connected\, automated mobIlity SystEms – project is one of the latest actions on the Cooperative\, Connected\, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) sector launched by the European Commission through its executive agency\, CINEA. ERTICO will participate in the kick-off meeting that will take place in Brussels on 20-21 September.  \nThe consortium coordinated by IDIADA and consisting of 27 partners will present the way forward and will delineate the coordination plan for the next months. At the event\, stakeholders and involved partners will have the opportunity to gather information\, engage in debates and coordinate their actions for the next months. The scope of the project is to define\, implement and demonstrate the building blocks of safety assurance technologies and systems. It also aims at defining a harmonised approach to enable the massive deployment of highly automated vehicles. \nThe project will build upon HEADSTART\, a previous EU-funded project\, as well as on other initiatives\, and will develop and demonstrate a commonly accepted\, extensible Safety Assurance Framework for the test and safety validation of a varied scope of CCAM systems. \nThis will be achieved by: \n\nBringing the needs of heterogeneous CCAM use cases.\nDefining a scenario-based database framework that will broaden the HEADSTART methodology.\nHolistically addressing the CCAM test scenario generation.\nPreparing the required tools for comprehensive testing – virtual and physical – taking into account robustness\, scalability\, interoperability\, quality and standardization.\nIntegrating functional safety and cybersecurity.\nInvolving the use cases from the initial stages\, acting as a guiding principle within the project.\n\nThe long-term goal of the SUNRISE project is to accelerate the safe deployment of innovative CCAM technologies and systems for passengers and goods by creating a demonstrable and positive impact on safety. This is in line with  EU’s long-term goal of moving close to zero fatalities and serious injuries by 2050 (Vision Zero)\, and the resilience of road & transport systems. SUNRISE will work closely with CCAM stakeholders as policymakers\, regulators\, consumer testing\, user associations and all relevant stakeholders. \n  \nSUNRISE project has received funding from the European Union’s HORIZON Research and Innovation Actions under grant agreement No 101069573.
