SUMMARY:2025 TRB Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Transportation Research Board (TRB) 2025 Annual Meeting\, taking place from 5-9 January 2025\, is a prestigious event that will feature over 4\,000 presentations across more than 650 sessions and workshops\, offering a comprehensive look at advancements and challenges across all transportation modes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganised by TRB’s volunteer technical committees\, the meeting will include 400+ meetings by standing committees and three days of exhibits showcasing the latest in transportation-related products and services. Attendees can expect comprehensive coverage\, with almost every transportation mode and topic represented. \nChairman of ERTICO\, Dr Angelos Amditis will contribute to two key sessions\, showcasing thought leadership and engaging in meaningful discussions including a panel discussion on ”The Future of Transportation’ together with senior transportation leaders to explore how cutting-edge technologies and innovations can create a fully integrated\, seamless\, safe\, and efficient transportation system of systems. He also took part in the panel on ‘State of Intelligent Transportation Systems: Strategic Directions and Industry Priorities’\, featuring influential ITS leaders to discuss the strategic directions and priorities that will drive innovation\, improve safety\, and enhance mobility. \nERTICO’s Director of Innovation & Strategy\, Vlad Vorotovic\, has been invited to present the work of ERTICO and the TM2.0 Innovation Platform at the TRB ITS Committee meeting\, where he will participate as one of the international members. “It will be a great pleasure to attend their VIP reception\, building on the recently signed MoU to explore transatlantic opportunities for collaboration in research and innovation\,” says Vlad. “I look forward to discussing preparations for the International Symposium: Navigating the Future of Traffic Management\, co-organised by European and American partners\, and engaging with international stakeholders to advance safe\, sustainable\, and resilient transport systems.” \nERTICO Head of Green & Urban Mobility\, Dr Tamara Djukic will also participate at the VIP reception organised by the TRB’s Executive Director\, “I will investigate the opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic for the cooperation in the research and innovation domain\, for the benefit of deployment of safe and resilient transport systems.” We will discuss and plan the International Symposium on Navigating the Future of Traffic Management\, organised by the European and American partners\, and I’ll also be involved in a number of workshops and meetings with the international stakeholders. As a full member of the TRB Committee\, Tamara will participate in the Committee Meetings on Travel Demand and Traffic Flow Theory where we will work on new roadmaps and strategic alignment of the future research needs and collaboration opportunities in transport and mobility areas. She will also moderate a session on new mobility services\, where she will have an opportunity to share the latest developments in Horizon Europe-funded projects\, metaCCAZE and SUM. \nRegistrations are still open! SUMMARY:ERTICO thought leadership towards Paris
DESCRIPTION:To kick off this new year\, a delegation of ERTICO will participate in various events\, exchanging knowledge\, taking up the discussion points of last year and continue engaging in discussions of forthcoming trends and new opportunities ahead.  \nOn 21 January\, our CEO Joost Vantomme will first join the ATEC ITS France Congress to meet and connect with colleagues from the region and discuss the next ITS European Congress taking place in the neighbouring country of Seville\, Spain from 19-21 May. \nThe following day\, ERTICO is invited by the International Transport Forum (ITF) of OECD\, as a special invitee by Young Tae Kim\, Secretary General of the ITF. We have been invited to organise dedicated training and knowledge-sharing sessions with the ITF community. Joost Vantomme will be joined by a delegation of the ERTICO team\, Director of Strategy & Innovation\, Vlad Vorotovic and Senior Managers\, Ralf Willenbrock\, and Vassilis Agouridas. The special lectures with the ITF team will be focused on cutting-edge innovation and technologies shaping the future transformation of transport\, including Connected\, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM)\, new urban transport solutions\, innovative aerial services\, ITS for logistics\, data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This lecture\, titled “Smart Mobility\, Sustainable Solutions: Transforming Transport for a Digital Future” will be a unique opportunity to discuss how technology\, and its governance for responsible innovation\, are driving the shift worldwide towards smarter and more sustainable mobility\, as well as to learn from the perspective of a leading organisation driving innovation and collaboration on the topic. \nITF and ERTICO have a strong cooperation and we are pleased with having Mr Young Tae Kim\, Secretary General of ITF\, as a regular guest and speaker in the ITS congress cycle. \nStay tuned for more updates following these key engagements.

DESCRIPTION:The PoDIUM project has launched an exciting series of webinars\, focusing on the cutting-edge Connected\, Cooperative\, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) use cases and Physical and Digital Infrastructure (PDI) technologies tested in the project’s Living Labs in Germany\, Spain\, and Italy. \nThe series kicked off on 27 November 2024 with a deep dive into the Spanish Living Lab\, highlighting advancements in emergency vehicle prioritisation\, traffic management optimisation\, vulnerable user protection\, integration with urban traffic systems\, and infrastructure support for vehicle perception models. \nThe second webinar in the series took place on 3 December 2024. Focusing on the German Living Lab\, the webinar explored cooperative corridor management using multi-connectivity for improved urban traffic management at complex intersections. \nCouldn’t attend the first webinars?
