SUMMARY:Conference: Mobility reforms transforming the EU’s transport sector
DESCRIPTION:Conference on Mobility reforms transforming the EU’s transport sector\, co-organized by the Permanent Representation of the Slovak Republic to the EU and Uber. \nThe event will take place on 4 February 2020 at 14.30\, at the Slovak Permanent Representation premises on Avenue de Cortenbergh 79\,  Bruxelles 1000.  \nRide-hailing services are growing across the EU\, offering citizens and cities convenient shared transport options. These solutions have the potential to transform urban mobility\, complementing public transit and reducing private car ownership. \nAs local authorities and national governments try to create or adapt legal frameworks to bring these services onboard alongside traditional operators\, it is vital that emerging best practice from around Europe is shared and learned from. SUMMARY:EU Connected Automated Driving conference
DESCRIPTION:The deployment of Connected and Automated Driving (CAD) can contribute significantly to our policy goals of bringing down the number of road fatalities\, reducing harmful emissions from transport and reducing congestion. At the same time\, automated mobility has the potential to strengthen the competitiveness of European industry\, create new jobs and boost economic growth. \nIt is the ambition of the European Commission to make Europe a world leader in the deployment of connected and automated mobility. Technological progress is very fast and the market for connected and automated vehicles is expected to grow exponentially. \nWith the EUCAD 2019 conference\, which comes almost one year after the publication of the Communication on automated mobility and two years after EUCAD 2017\, the European Commission intends to take stock of the implementation of the different actions of the European agenda. \nEUCAD 2019 is the only conference in Europe that brings together political leaders from the European Commission and Member States with high-level representatives of industry and road authorities to discuss all the major challenges related to automated mobility. \nTaking place just one month before European elections\, EUCAD 2019 will also convey a strong message to citizens: their acceptance is key to the success of CAD. Engaging different segments of society in the discussion helps to establish a sense of inclusiveness and shared ownership and will encourage this acceptance. \nClick here for more details.
