SUMMARY:EUCAD 2025: Advancing Connected and Automated Mobility
DESCRIPTION:The 5th European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving (EUCAD) 2025 is scheduled from 13 to 15 May 2025 at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra\, Italy\, EUCAD 2025 and will be hosted by the European Commission\, in collaboration with the European Partnership on CCAM and the FAME project. It focuses on practical steps toward implementing cooperative\, connected\, and automated mobility (CCAM) across Europe. \nThe conference provides a platform for stakeholders from diverse sectors\, including transport\, technology\, cities\, and research\, to discuss progress\, address challenges\, and plan future actions in CCAM. \nExploring Key Topics in CCAM \nThe conference will include presentations\, panel discussions\, and interactive sessions on themes such as: \n–Scaling and Implementing CCAM Solutions: Discussions will focus on the readiness of CCAM for real-world applications\, including logistics\, public transport\, and harmonized digital infrastructure. \n–Enhancing Safety\, Security\, and Reliability: Sessions will explore advancements in cybersecurity\, scenario-based assessments\, and lifecycle safety of automated vehicles. \n–CCAM as a Driver of Societal Goals: Presentations will examine how CCAM can support sustainability\, reduce energy intensity\, and address urban mobility needs\, particularly in smaller cities. \n–Enabling Collaboration and Data Sharing: The programme includes discussions on federated data sharing\, governance frameworks\, and insights from cross-sector partnerships such as European 5G projects. \nFAME’s Role in Shaping CCAM Testing and Evaluation \nERTICO-ITS Europe is coordinating the FAME project\, which is improving coordination and collaboration in CCAM testing across Europe. Key initiatives include: \n-Developing a Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM) to assess impacts across different user groups.\n-Establishing a CCAM Test Data Space (TDS) to enable secure data sharing for testing and evaluation.\n-Strengthening cooperation through a framework that ensures consistency and supports large-scale CCAM trials.\n-These tools aim to ensure that CCAM technologies are tested in a reliable and comparable manner\, helping to build trust and alignment among stakeholders. \nAn Opportunity to Engage and Contribute \nEUCAD 2025 is expected to bring together over 500 participants\, including researchers\, public authorities\, and industry representatives\, to exchange experiences and identify practical ways to advance CCAM. \n🔗 Registrations are open until 6 April 2025! Join us in Ispra to contribute to the next steps for connected and automated mobility!
