SUMMARY:H2020 Road Transport Research European Conference
DESCRIPTION:More than 70 projects dealing with road transport research funded under the Horizon 2020 Transport programme\, will present their results at the 4th edition of the H2020 Road Transport Research European Conference (#H2020RTR20). Amongst these\, ERTICO activities SAFE STRIP\, ELVITEN and C-MobILE will have the opportunity to share their results and advancments. \nCo-organised by the European Commission\, ERTRAC and EGVIA \, the H2020 Road Transport Research European Conference brings together leading-edge projects from road transport research to discuss their results\, and reflect on the future of the fields covered by their research. The participating projects this year cover a number of areas\, including green and electric vehicles; automated transport; safe\, efficient\, and resilient infrastructure; clean\, inclusive\, and safe mobility. \n\nRegistration\nDraft Agenda

SUMMARY:Webinar: How CAD and AVs can support the sustainability of transport
DESCRIPTION:Sustainable transport has three dimensions:\n(1) Environment; Does CAD reduce emissions or noise? Does it help us achieve the carbon neutrality goals? How does it affect land use and livability?\n(2) Economy: Do AVs promote sustainable modal choices? Do they improve the efficiency of the transport networks?\n(3) Society: How much will CAD improve safety? Does it improve public health or quality of life? What about social equity\, do AVs promote access to goods and services for as many people as possible? \nThis workshop starts with discussion on different mechanisms how CAD and AVs can support the sustainability of transport and what we know now about the impacts. It also discusses what kind of expectations and concerns different stakeholders have and whether the automated mobility can be made inclusive and environmentally friendly. The session is interactive\, and audience is invited to contribute via polls and discussion. \nDate: 27 October 2020 \nHost: Stéphane Dreher\, ERTICO – ITS Europe\nModerator: Satu Innamaa\, VTT\, Finland\nSpeakers:\nScott Smith\, U.S. DOT Volpe Center\, USA (Energy and Environmental Impacts of Automated Vehicles: Framework and Preliminary Results)\nToshimasa Nakagawa\, NILIM/MLIT\, Japan (Automated Driving Services in Rural Area)\nRune Elvik\, The Institute of Transport Economics (TØI)\, Norway (Safety impacts of CAD)\nSascha Westermann\, Hochbahn – ITS PMO of the City of Hamburg\, Germany (Impacts of CAD on livability of cities and sustainable modal choices) \n______________________________________ \nPlease register here. \nThis webinar is co-hosted by the ERTICO Academy and the EU co-funded ARCADE project.

SUMMARY:COREALIS Webinar Series - Valencia port: Empowering the port-city sustainability
DESCRIPTION:Valencia Living Lab (LL)\, is one of the five LLs (together with Antwerp\, Haminakotka\, Livorno and Piraeus). of the COREALIS European project\, which proposes a strategic\, innovative framework\, for cargo ports to handle their upcoming and future capacity\, traffic\, efficiency and environmental challenges. This framework is supported by disruptive technologies\, including Internet of Things (IoT)\, data analytics\, next generation traffic management and emerging 5G networks\, that aiming at increasing efficiency\, optimising land-use\, being financially viable\, respecting circular economy principles and being of service to the urban environment. \nThe demonstration aims to showcase the actual operation of the Valencia Living Lab developed innovations (Truck Appointment System: a reservation system\, including real time traffic data\, Just-In-Time Rail Shuttle Service: a feasibility study for key port-hinterland corridors\, Innovation Incubator Scheme: a scheme making the port the epicentre of the local industrial landscape and Port of the future Serious Game: an innovative and interactive training and simulation game for port-city developments). \nDate: Tuesday\, 27 October 2020 \nTime: 10:00 – 11:30 CET \n______________________________________ \nPlease register here. \nThis webinar is organised by the European co-funded COREALIS project and co-hosted by the ERTICO Academy.

SUMMARY:Transport as a Commodity and Utility Virtual Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by ITS America\, ERTICO – ITS Europe and ITS Asia-Pacific\nCurated by MOD Alliance and MaaS Alliance \nIf\, at its core\, MOD/MaaS treats transportation supply and demand as commodities\, blending both public and private sector entities in a more singular customer-driven mobility service – is it possible for our public and private road and mobility operators to achieve a fully commoditized transportation? During the “ITS World Congress ALL-ACCESS”\, MaaS Alliance and MOD Alliance will host two sessions focusing on this. \nThe Global MOD/MaaS All Access will take two sessions to explore:\n• Part 1: Wednesday\, October 7 at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. EDT: Mobility Services as a Commodity – Does the Business Model Work? Join our distinguished panel as they pick up the threads of a controversial discussion that challenges the premise of Mobility as a Service and whether its promise to deliver choice to travelers and profit to companies can work. \n• Part 2: Thursday\, October 8 at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. EDT: Mobility Infrastructure as a Commodity – Can On-Demand Management Work? people argue that infrastructure should be treated more like a commodity than it has been\, that limited resources like the curb and sidewalks can be optimized and that there is money to be made. Our panel will explore if “on demand” mobility infrastructure is possible. \n“ITS World Congress ALL-ACCESS” an immersive digital education event series delivering interactive education sessions\, discussion groups\, live Q&As\, recommended content\, and vendor solution presentations in the form of case-studies\, keynotes and expert panels – all accessible on demand.
