Vacation rental startup Apartum has received undisclosed funding from Lanta Digital Ventures.

Barcelona-based Apartum, which launched at the beginning of 2013 (TLabs here), is a comparison site for the holiday rental sector.

Confirming the funding to Tnooz, chief executive and co-founder Sergi Villaubi says the startup aims to become the “biggest and most relevant vacation rental search engine” and plans to hire people to raise awareness with funds going towards marketing initiatives including search engine and social media marketing.

He adds that it is also talking to further investors interested in the Apartum.

Villaubi says the service has more than a million apartments on its platform from a range of partners including Booking.com, HouseTrip, Only-Apartments and Roomorama and, is is talking to further partners about joining the platform.

Villaubi says:
