ERTICO’s team of experts recently participated in two prominent events, Intertraffic Amsterdam and Amsterdam Drone Week, showcasing their dedication to fostering collaborations and advancing the Intelligent Transport System with the broader scope of stakeholders in the mobility ecosystem. From reconnecting with familiar faces to welcoming new perspectives, each interaction throughout the week brought a myriad of opportunities to join and engage with our Partnership and the variety of activities, including the upcoming ITS World Congress in Dubai, 16-20 September.

During the four days filled with networking opportunities and dialogues at the 2024 Intertraffic Amsterdam, ERTICO shared insights and updates in the Smart Mobility exhibition, presenting its Partnership and activities with a high traction of engagement and future collaboration with many stakeholders on-site.

On Wednesday 17th, Chairman Dr Angelos Amditis, Chairman of SC and Board member Thomas Jäger, CEO Joost Vantomme, CFO & HR Director, Didier Gorteman and Director of Innovation & Strategy, Vladimir Vorotovic FCILT joined the ITS Nationals Network’s Plenary, delivering a compelling update on ERTICO’s initiatives. They shared insightful perspectives on the latest developments with great potential of working closer together to lay the groundwork for more synergistic partnerships with all ITS National associations. This collaborative effort is key to elevating the joint vision of driving innovation and deployment of smarter, more efficient and sustainable mobility solutions together throughout Europe.

In tandem with the presence at Intertraffic Amsterdam, Mr Vantomme participated at the Amsterdam Drone Week’s UIC2 Panel discussion on ‘Sustainable Development Perspectives on Urban Air Mobility’. In his address, Mr Vantomme presented the important aspects of fostering innovation for a sustainable future in the realm of Innovative Aerial Services (IAS). Emphasising that innovation extends beyond product or instrument angles, he also pointed out the importance of integrating learnings from the connected and automated road mobility and traffic management and ITS into the air mobility. A true win-win.

“At ERTICO, our partnership approach revolves around connecting the dots across sectors and stakeholders in Intelligent Transport Systems,” says Mr Vantomme. “By leveraging automation, traffic management, connectivity, and data utilisation, ERTICO aims to drive innovation and progress in the mobility sector.”

As we prepare for the 30th ITS World Congress in Dubai, participation in these events reflects our commitment to shaping the future of mobility and strengthening our collaboration, but also exploration of avenues through new connections. We are looking forward to bringing many of these discussions to the Congress in September, inviting all stakeholders to discover the full Programme Preview and book your tickets with the early bird rates before 15th June.
