ERTICO – ITS Europe is excited to announce that the China-Europe ITS Joint Innovation Centre, an initiative co-founded by ERTICO ITS-Europe and ITS China, will be launched on 19 September 2018. The launch ceremony will be held following the China-Europe ITS Summit, alongside the 25th ITS World Congress in Copenhagen.
ITS China and ERTICO ITS-Europe are establishing the China-Europe ITS Joint Innovation Centre as an accelerator for cooperation between industries, authorities and research institutes from Europe and China. The goal of this Centre is to foster co-operation to accelerate the development of ITS in Europe and China.
The China-Europe ITS Joint Innovation Centre will focus on areas including:
- Connected and automated driving
- Mobility as a Service
- Smart cities
- Freight transport and logistics
The objectives of the China-Europe ITS Joint Innovation Centre will be achieved through the active promotion of cooperation activities between the member companies of ITS China and ERTICO. These will include:
- Promotion of ITS standards
- Creation of cooperation projects
- Exchange of knowhow
- Organising networking events and site visits in Europe and China
