The 9th European ITS Congress will take place in Dublin Ireland under the theme ITS: Delivering for European Competitiveness through Sustainable Mobility. The European Congress to be held in the Convention Centre Dublin in June 2013 will be the major ITS event in Europe with several thousand delegates from the continent and beyond gathering in the Irish capital to discuss and showcase the latest transport solutions.
Hermann Meyer ERTICO CEO and David O’Keeffe ITS Ireland Chair signed the contract for Dublin 2013 on Friday 27 January 2012 during the launch meeting of the host organising committee in the presence of important industry players and Irish government representatives including Alan Kelly T.D. (Minister of State for Public Transport).
The Congress which takes place during the Irish Presidency of the European Council will focus on the following topics:
- Delivering ITS in an economically-constrained environment
- Connecting ITS to the people (information systems)
- Cooperative mobility
- Interoperability
- Demand management
- More efficient travel (for people and goods)
- Safer Travel
- Facilitating modal shift
