Environment protection is an important topic in the transport community, especially when it comes to Intelligent Transport Systems and how they can contribute to lower emissions with new solutions. This is why the European project MODALES is organising a half-day workshop on behavioural factors in reducing emissions at the upcoming IEEE conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems taking place in Rhodes, Greece from 20-23 September 2020.

The MODALES workshop “Reducing vehicle exhaust, brake and tyre emissions to improve air quality” will address emissions from all types of road vehicles (cars, buses, light and heavy goods vehicles), from different sources: powertrain/exhaust, brake wear and tyre/road wear. It will focus on driving behaviour and vehicle maintenance, testing and retrofit issues, as well as cloud based systems and how these affect different types of emissions.

About 23rd IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems

The 2020 annual flagship conference of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) will be held in in the Greek island of Rhodes. The International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC) welcomes papers and presentations in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems, dealing with new developments in theory, analysis, simulation and modeling, experimentation, demonstration, case studies, field operational tests, and deployments. ITSC 2020 particularly invites and encourages prospective authors to share their work, findings, perspectives and developments as related to implementation and deployment of advanced ITS applications.
