The European Platform on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans has announced the details of three Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) workshops it is hosting over the coming months.

The 3rd Sustainable Mobility and Intelligent Transport Conference in Nicosia will host the Cypriot workshop on 11 May.

The Bulgarian SUMP seminar, organised in co-operation with the EU-funded ENDURANCE project(link is external) and the JASPERS (Joint Assistance to Support Projects in European Regions) programme, is being held in Sofia on 14 May 2015.

On 11 June 2015 Koprivnica will host the Croatian SUMP seminar, supported by the EU-funded CIVINET(link is external) and CIVITAS DYN@MO(link is external) projects and the JASPERS programme.

The workshops are aimed at Bulgarian, Croatian and Cypriot national, regional and local stakeholders interested in urban transport and mobility planning. The purpose of the seminars is to:

Update on national urban transport planning policy;Inform about European support that cities can access when preparing, developing and implementing a SUMP;Familiarise participants with the plan concept, the main steps and the benefits; Discuss barriers to the application of the plan concept in their cities and how to overcome them.
