The CAPITAL project was present at the 25th ITS World Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark with an exclusive C-ITS showcase, organised in partnership with the C-MobILE project.
The demonstration featured of a 20-minute tour on the streets of Copenhagen in three vehicles provided by C-MobILE partners NeoGLS and Dynniq, and by the ATeam Eindhoven, during which guests were treated to real-time overview of activities and events occurring on the road network through various innovative C-ITS use cases.
Among the events demonstrated are warnings of pedestrians and wrong-way drivers on the road, information about road works and road hazards, messages about accidents ahead, feedback about closed roads via embedded VMS (eVMS), as well as recommendations for the optimal speed to reach an intersection and catch the green light (GLOSA). The C-MobILE hybrid architecture used in the demonstration have been deployed by the city of Copenhagen and its service providers, bundling a coherent set of C-ITS services within an integrated suite of applications.
The demonstration was provided by the C-MobILE project (Accelerating C-ITS Mobility Innovation and deployment in Europe), whichdeploying cooperative intelligent transport systems and services designed to deal with specific mobility challenges across Europe. C-MobILE helps local authorities deploy the C-ITS services they need and raises awareness of the potential benefits for all road users. Eight C-ITS equipped cities and regions are involved in C-MobILE, ensuring that interoperability and seamless service availability are prioritised and at an acceptable cost for the end-user.
In addition to the C-ITS services demonstrated during the live demo, participants to the showcase could exchange with ITS experts during an exclusive Q&A session held on site.
