Working towards safer and more efficient European road network, European project C-MobILE kicked off a TESTFEST this Monday at the CTAG premises in Vigo, Spain. The objective of the TESTFEST is to prove the interoperability of the C-MobILE deployments and also the correct implementation of the C-ITS specifications. The services that are being tested this during the three-day TESTFEST are: Road works warning (RWW), Road Hazard Warning (RHW), In-Vehicle Signage (IVS), Slow or Stationary Vehicle Warning (SSVW) and Green Light Optimised Speed Advice (GLOSA).
The first day started with a welcome and briefing session attended by partners from all C-MobILE deployment sites (Barcelona, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Newcastle, North Brabant and Thessaloniki) and also by a number of non-C-MobILE participants. After the briefing, the team set up the C-ITS equipment in the cars and started the first test session on the dedicated CTAG test track. The next two days of the TESTFEST the participating crews will continue testing also on a designated route alongside local public roads, featuring urban, interurban and motorway sections; while the third and final day of the TESTFEST will see the crews assemble in downtown Vigo for on-road testing in the city proper – the ultimate test of compatibility between apps and infrastructure.
