This workshop is organised by the ERTICO Partnership to present recommendations concerning the implementation of eCall according to the forthcoming regulation. In particular, it will focus on how to achieve cost efficient testing of eCall components.

The workshop is organised for all ERTICO Partners.

Testing of eCall devices and PSAP equipment, as well as underlying modules is considered important for the successful introduction of eCall in Europe. In 2012, the first interoperability test event, organized at MIRA in UK, showed the need to ensure the compliance of eCall devices to the relevant standards.

The HeERO EC co-funded project is preparing a deliverable providing a complete compliance assessment process for IVS and PSAP. In September 2013, the ERTICO Partnership organized a successful TestFest event on end-to-end eCall compliancy testing. More than 30 companies participated in this event, showing a growing interest for the interoperability of eCall devides. As the event concluced, 4000 tests were executed; hence the ERTICO Partnership would like to explore this compliancy testing even further. It is important to finalize the test procedures and provide proper framework for vendors to apply for the eCall compliancy assessment.

The purpose of this workshop is to present the current test procedures and discuss how these can be expanded and improved regarding the overall eCall compliance assessment.
