Building an interconnected European Transport System: the key to achieve a sustainable Single European Transport Area?

The European Transport Forum will be articulated around two panel debates:

The first panel will focus on goods mobility:

The deployment of Intelligent Transport Solutions and cooperative systems introduces advanced traffic management capacities to freight transport and paves the way to build a connected intermodal transport system for Europe. How to ensure this pan-European harmonisation and how to speed up the process in order to improve logistics efficiency? Who are the needed stakeholders and how should they cooperate to make it happen? What does it request from authorities?

The second panel will focus on people mobility:

Combining Intermodal transport services and ITS should also help achieving sustainable mobility for the citizens in urban areas. Is it already a reality in some European cities? What does it request from local authorities? Can the citizens already use a multi modal journey planner for their own mobility? Is there a need for an EU wide approach?
