This webinar will build further on the gamification session that was held at the 9th ITS European Congress that took place in Dublin in June 2013 and will set the scene for the gamification workshop that will be organised at the ITS World Congress in Tokyo in October 2013.

The technique of games mechanics is now well established in some industry sectors and its inclusion in ITS can provide opportunities. The addition of a ‘gaming layer’ to the provision of information on travel choices has enabled experiments to be run using essentially the same technology platform but different strategies for achieving greater behavioural influence.

This webinar will present the latest thinking and advancements in gamification; social media and user interaction design. The webinar will present evidence on the use of gamification in transport and ITS and examine its prospects.
