Social Media and Transport Seminar

March 25, 2015 @ 12:15 pm - 4:00 pm

Organised by: Transport Systems Catapult

Adress: Ground Floor, The Pinnacle, 170 Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 1BP

Programme

Social Networking is an important feature of many people’s lives, both personally and professionally.

It is also having an impact on transport. People may learn about a road traffic accident through Twitter before they hear about it from their traffic information service. Car-sharing is more acceptable with “Facebook Friends” than it is with strangers.

The seminar will address “Social Media in Transport”, including its use for the National Roads Authority in Dublin, and how technology & gamification can be used to encourage travel behaviour change. (According to Wikipedia “gamification” is the use of game thinking and game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in solving problems and increase users’ self-contributions)
