Iñaki San Sebastián is the new Managing Director of TECNALIA as of 31 March 2016, succeeding Joseba Jauregizar.
Iñaki San Sebastián, who held the position of Deputy Managing Director at TECNALIA since 2011, has been closely linked to this project since 1990, when he began his professional career as a researcher at Fatronik, of which he eventually became the Managing Director. He is an Industrial Engineer by the University of Navarre and holds an Executive MBA by the University of Deusto and a PADE (Senior Management Programme) by IESE.
His professional career has always been linked to the field of research and the business world, which has enabled him to get a close look at its needs in terms of Innovation. Moreover, his career path has allowed him to carry out in-depth studies of the Basque, Spanish and European Science and Technology systems, participating in the design of some of them.
Joseba Jauregizar has managed the TECNALIA project from its first phase, leading its inception and the creation of the first Strategic Plan, which set down the pillars of this great organisation, positioning TECNALIA as a benchmark in R&D&I in Spain and Europe.
TECNALIA now starts a new season in which it will follow the second Strategic Plan, looking towards the 2020 horizon under the management of Iñaki San Sebastián, who will focus on strengthening the organisation’s position as a technological partner, essential for competitiveness within the entrepreneurial realm, identifying business opportunities, generating connections between the markets and technologies and providing added value to companies. In short, transforming technology into GDP.
