ERTICO-ITS Europe, ITS Nationals, and ITS Germany with its project AIAMO – Artificial Intelligence and Mobility, have joined forces to make their common vision a reality. Across borders, languages and legacies, this partnership is taking shape based on the shared conviction that mobility must evolve responsibly, intelligently, and together.

Together we are building momentum

The recent Memorandum of Understanding signed by ERTICO and ITS Germany – AIAMO cements a partnership that intends to bridge technical innovation and policy leadership across European and national levels. At the heart of this collaboration lies the creation of a Stakeholder and Policy Council – a space where mobility stakeholders, AI developers, regulators, and citizens can jointly navigate the implementation of the EU AI Act.

Through the AIAMOnexus, ITS Germany – AIAMO provides project partners with Artificial Intelligence data, which serves as the foundation for practical applications in the ITS industry. ITS Germany and AIAMO are reaching new heights, providing an innovation boost for AI-powered mobility management in Europe in the form of scalable, reusable, AI-driven solutions that promote efficient, sustainable, safe and demand-oriented mobility. Further information is available in the joint press release issued by ERTICO and ITS Germany – AIAMO.

We are not merely reacting to regulation. We are actively shaping the ecosystem that makes it work. Beyond innovation, we are creating space for alignment, for instance:

  • Between urban needs and technical possibilities.
  • Between regulation and experimentation.
  • Between member states and the European industry.

This is our call to action to all stakeholders to:

  • Contribute to the AI Pact community with your internal guidelines, experiences, and systems assessments.
  • Engage in pilots, working groups, and Congress dialogues that bring policy and practice together.
  • Join us and
    • Speak – at conferences through working documents and shared pilots.
    • Listen – across borders, sectors, and disciplines.
    • Act – not in isolation, but through joint strategies that carry weight in Brussels and beyond.

We see the AI Pact as a shared proving ground: one where ideas are tested, trust is built, and collective understanding of AI in mobility is advanced.

We need you if you are:

  • Building intelligent transport systems in your city.
  • A policymaker looking to connect regulation to implementation.
  • A technical partner deploying AI, we want to align your breakthroughs with broader European standards.

Together ERTICO and AIAMO with the Technical Working Group, we are stitching together a pan-European ecosystem where action meets vision.

This is not a moment to observe. It is a moment to contribute.

About AIAMO:

The AIAMO research project connects state-of-the art artificial intelligence (AI) developments with concrete applications in intermodal and multimodal mobility. Its goal is the efficient use of mobility data so as to optimise traffic management in urban and rural areas, minimise CO2 emissions and enhance the quality of life for everyone. AIAMO develops and applies AI models to analyse and optimise mobility data. By integrating previously unused data and their intelligent networking and analysis, the project is opening up new opportunities for sustainable mobility.

The consortium led by ITS Germany e.V. with its 13 partners from the world of science, research and industry – T-Systems, Theis Consult, Fraunhofer IML, Bosch, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research, highQ, FKFS, TEQYARD, Swarco as well as Schlothauer & Wauer – develops innovative solutions that equally address the needs of both urban and rural mobility.
