The Latvian Ministry of Transport is introducing new traffic regulations to protect vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
The new measures, which include the construction of cycle paths and better signage and road markings, aim to increase the number of cyclists on Latvia’s streets.
For drivers, new rules include fines for parking on intersections, pavements, and cycle paths, as well as restrictions on vehicle number plates that will make escaping detection by speed cameras more difficult.
